Prograis will beat Jose Ramirez easily. There is a reason Ramirez and Top Rank didnt want the fight. Top rank wants to keep Ramirez undefeated at all cost, because he is a ticket seller. Flanagan although no elite fighter, Regis handled him easily. Bob wanted Prograis to fight on Ramirez undercard, but there was no guarantee he would get the title shot.

Ramirez really isnt a bad fighter. In fact, I think he's the third best guy in the division behind Prograis and Taylor.

I do think Rougarou beats him, and clearly, but I feel like Ramirez would give a good account of himself. His chin seems very good, but then again, would be interesting to see if he could handle Prograis' power all night.

I think Regis win would win a clear decision, but probably not an "easy" one.

Regis could beat anyone at 140lb easily except Mikey. Mikey is a top 5 lb for lb. Regis just needs to win the tournament then fight Ramirez.

I believe Ramirez will be a Crawford opponent sometime next yr.. Bob is known to mix and match his 140 and 147 fighters often.. And with a belt Ramirez would be seen as a credible opponent for Buds 147 title

I agree. He's nothing really special. I could see Taylor and Ramirez beating him. I see it as a pretty open division right now with Taylor probably being the best.

Prograis knocks Ramirez out but Josh Taylor is different cup of tea. He is very doggish in that ring but so is Prograis. Somebody gets knocked out and I don't know who.

Dramatics aside, I dont think those guys are stopping eachother. I'm thinking Prograis-Taylor, Prograis-Ramirez, and Taylor-Ramirez would all go the distance.

I don't think he's an easy opponent for anyone at 140 and from the handful of fights of his I've seen he looks to have an iron chin, good skills, speed and power, an excellent engine, and an impressive amateur pedigree and record. Rougarou didn't get Flanagan out of there and he was a career 135 pounder up until his last fight and I've seen Ramirez walk through everything noted bangers at 140 threw at him without barely blinking and as skilled as Taylor is I'd be surprised if he stopped him as well. He might have looked poor in some of his fights I haven't seen but he looks a good fighter to me in the ones I have seen and I think he's a handful for anyone at the weight.

I favor both prograis and Taylor over ramirez and feel bob wanted to eliminate one of those guys and clearly held ramirez out of the tournament for good reason.

Prograis looked good vs Flanagan. Patient, good head movement and feints and worked behind a strong jab and looked to counter.
Ramirez doesn’t have the style or defense to beat prograis. Bob will keep him away.

I'm not huge on Prograis.. After the other night I'm picking Taylor to win the tournament now.

What made you make this decision based on his performance? Looks to me he did what he wanted in there and could have turned it up if he wanted.

I m a big Josh Taylor fan but thought prograis looked really impressive. Was going to lump a fair bit on Taylor to win the wbss but I reckon it could be a tough fight if he meets prograis in the final. Still think Taylor wins but it's hard fight that prograis could potentially win as well.

I still think Ramirez is a stylistic problem for everyone at 140, including Prograis. In my opinion Prograis, Taylor & Ramirez appear to be the top three at 140. At the conclusion of the WBSS we should have a top two, hopefully they meet.

Ramirez' style is very active, he won't be as easy to subdue or consistently counter as some believe and if you don't slow him down, you run the risk of being drowned in his energy.

Prograis done his bit, he looked good against Flanagan. On Saturday we get to assess Taylor VS Martin. I'm not going to lie, although putting pressure on my belief of how good Taylor is, I can't see anything other than a comprehensive win for Taylor on Nov 3rd. Martin's style is made to give you different viable ways to win the fight, and still look good with Taylor's skill set.

Prograis impressed me against Flanagan, he deserves the role of favourite and number one seed. Appears to be a good kid too, I like him. But I wouldn't write Ramirez off against Prograis just yet, he's still improving.

Ummm... based on the fact that hre shutout Flanagan, and beat him up without having to kick it into a second gear?

Who's to say Taylor would have done any better against Flanagan?
