Was gonna go with Mundine Snr myself. Must be from that era. Paul Ferreri was on at least 2 or 3 channels - is he the 4 man?

From the 7th of May to the 27th of July [approx 10 weeks]I had 9 fights mainly 10 rounders just to stay in the f*cken ratings:|
I once had two main events in 2 days ,a 6 and 10.
And with every fight my relatonship with the ratings was like an unreturned love or a fragile baby pleading [Please don,t drop me]with me the monthly ratings were more important than my girlfriends menstrel cycle or my Malvern Sar racer:think

I guess a 'cycle' is a good reason for the 'racer'....

Really :huh ...The ANBF has three Victorian fighters in their rankings at lightweight.

    Sedat Tasci
    Johnny Sheferaw
    Eric Anaba

I have seen Matty Ropis' march rankings somewhere for victoria..and I do actually recall only one name being listed under lightweight. It was something exotic to, so it must have been Bhaskar.

Regardless it does seem that the boxing talent is elsewhere in the division..even it is only very sparse. 11 ranked boxers in the ANBF ratings, 12 if you include Steve wills the champ.
Boxrec has 24 active lightweights listed.

Only even a quick glance reveals quite a few werent born in Australia.

    Talent is thin these days.

Alright fine you are..but from where Im sitting you are someone named "old man" on a boxing forum. And as I said I had read some other rankings for Victoria that had Bhaskar as the only ranked fighter there.

I was only going off the ANBF website..which conflicts with what you said. Thats why I posted that to ask for clarification.
Perhaps you should stick it up them for such a glaring oversight.

Many a reason....1 both boys might have temporary relocated to Melbourne
2 Anabas' closeness to lightweight might have convinced John that he will fight at that weight or his manager might have requested he be rated Lightweight

bigger talent pool = better fighters. we have less than 100 reg pros......in the early 1900s we had thousands. australia was a world recognised boxing country, not the backwater it is now.

In my opinion fighters in the 70`s were possibly the last of the real warriors in aussie boxing. We fought everyone. Nobody picked and
choosed there fights. I started as a 15 year old schoolboy and finished
as a grandfather. fighters were fighters. Every gym was full of fighters, trainers and characters. I remember fighting guys like Matty Ropis, Barry
Michael and Baby Cass then becoming mates straight after. Arrh....the
    memories.
