I have the 180 Mexican wraps which feel good and tight and I use good technique wrapping and have no trouble with support to wrist or knuckles. My dilemma is this - I am finding my first two knuckles are getting skinned from heavy bag work. Do any of you use extra padding like sponges or maxi pads or even layered toilet paper (saw Robert Guerrero do this). I also have brand new 16 ounce Title Platinum gloves which are really well padded and this perplexes me. Should I tape over the wraps as well with athletic tape?

how do you wrap your hands? Do you do any wraps over the knuckles and wraps between the fingers? that can help keep the layer on your knuckles down. If not, the Title vids I have include one exclusively about hand wrapping. If you're just doing it over your knuckles, you probably need tape between your fingers to keep it down.

iv got the longest wraps i could find, and also wrap my hands with crepe bandages first. I dont use alot of bandage but just enough to give the knuckles a bit extra padding!

I use sponges in my wraps.

Are you sure it was toilet paper Robert Guerrero was using, and it wasn't gauze? lol

When I used to have knuckle issues, I used to wear the everlast gel gloves underneath my wraps and it worked wonders. I you have larger hands, the gel gloves plus the wraps might be hard to fit into your 16oz gloves. I've also tried the sponges under the wraps as well and it seemed to work okay.

i tried an experiment today when I wrapped my hands. I wrapped them like normal around the knuckles and wrist and when I got to around my second to last wrap on my knuckles, I put a wrap in between my pinky and ring fingers. It put a little spacing between them so they were straight when I punched and it helped keep the layers in place. Finished wrapping like normal and felt good.

To prevent abrasion on your skin, you could put tape first before wrapping your hands. Runners do the same when they tape their nipples before a really long run.

I find that putting athletic/adhesive tape onto my knuckles directly, then wrapping with handwraps works best.

Just stop being such a girl and wait for your hands to toughen up, which they will given enough time :D

Or use one of the above suggestions, they all work :good
