So......With all the threads about PAC forcing this mysterious rehydration clause on his opponents, why is it that Marg has put on 15-17 lbs since the weigh in? It's comical that we've seen a few clowns round here swear up and down that there would be a rehydration clause even though NO athletic commission in ANY state would approve such a clause. Thoughts?
These guys who foment such falsities ought to be publicly identified as filthy rumormongers on this board.
No, Winky Wright did have some rehydration clauses involved in a few of his negotations, so they definitely do exist.
I laughed the first few times I heard thos guys claim it was a fact without having any proof at all. Even Roger gave a recent interview over at fight_hype stating the same bull****...... I can't wait to see if anyone calls him out on it later.
I know you're a boxing fan Leon.....And I won't say I don't believe you, but I've never seen or heard about Wink having a rehydration clause in any of his fights nor have I heard or seen Wink confirm that claim directly. Could you possibly provide a souce or link. I'm interested in checkin that out knowing you are usually spot on with your posts even when we dont agree.
it was the mayweather clan that spreading rumors that every pacs fight had a rehydration cluase from delahoya all the way to margaritos fight.
You can't even say it out directly. Don't even bother, son of a hobo. Here you go, buddy: "I think it's Arum," Shaw said. "When Floyd normally calls someone out, he's serious about fighting them." Because Wright, who prefers to fight at 160, could probably put on as many as 15 pounds between the weigh-in (the day before) and the fight and enter the ring as high as 165-170, Mayweather's camp requested a morning-of-the-fight weigh-in. That included a stipulation that Wright couldn't go more than eight pounds above the limit. http://www.sptimes.com/2005/07/22/Sports/Wright_Mayweather_bou.shtml This was back when Floyd was still with top rank. When arum said that there was no rehydration clause for pac-marg, he also unknowingly acknowledged that they do indeed exist. If they don't exist, he wouldn't have made a rebuttal.
They are specific rehydration clauses made by EVERY boxing federation. For example, in IBF championship fight you cant gain more than 10% of your original weight on the day of the fight.
Thanks for the link Leon...... This was FLOYD asking for a rehydration clause for WINK which is similar to how Floyd demanded OSDT for PAC....which the same results came about with these "Floyd special demands" in fights he really didn't want, they never happened. Floyd has a bunch of specail requests that seem out there, but the OSDT demands isn't as dangerous as a rehydration clause. There wouldn't have been any chance of a Floyd vs Wink fight with this demand coming from Floyd's camp. And Bob saying there was no rehydration clause wasn't him acknowledging that a rehydration clause exsists....he was just making it clear that the "RUMORS" were just as unfounded as the rumors about PAC being on roids.,
There are REGULATIONS past down by state athletic commissions and governing bodies in this sport. But they are not rehydration clauses.....If any fighter asked for a rehydration clause NO organization would approve or sanction that fight in their state b/c it would be too much of a liability.
Winky had a history of pricing himself out of big fights. Floyd wanted 55/45 with Winky instead of 50/50. He turned down de La Hoya over a purse split. Who the hell rejects a fight with Oscar? Who would have thought Winky would have just faded away, and Floyd would end up becoming boxing's biggest star. Anyways, rehydration clauses do indeed exist. Hope that helps.
