In this case it doesn't matter much because Kova doesn't seem to rehydrate that much. Still, can't say I'm surprised by this.
Cannot say I’m surprised, what has surprised me is how well they’ve kept it quiet, obviously if it is true. Luckily as @Robney said, Kovalev doesn’t put on too much weight post weigh in so really it shouldn’t be too much of a problem.
Catchweights for years, now re-hydration causes... and the Cinnamon girls act as if 3G is the biggest Diva in boxing
What a little female dog! They sure did keep that one awfully quiet right up until the last minute. You'd think the fact that Kov is a way way past his best, obviously isn't hitting anywhere near as hard as he used to when he was the savage punching wrecking machine in all those promo videos they've been using to fool Clenelo's doe-eyed DKSAB teenybopper clueless fanbase, and him (Clenelo), as per usual, having his obligatory safety net of knowing that he only has to make it to the final bell to get his hand raised in place, not to mention Kov only having been able to grab the briefest of breaks in between to recuperate after nearly getting stopped by a raw novice in his last fight just 9 weeks ago who hadn't fought anyone with a pulse let alone beaten anyone who did, would be enough of an advantage for the poster boy for corruption for the sport. However, evidently not. That being said, it probably wouldn't have made any difference because, as said, this way past his best Kov has been coming in very light of late and only weighed 180 and 182 for his last 2 fights and he might even be the lighter man on the night or if not, and again in complete contrast to what Clenelo's doe-eyed DKSAB clueless teenybopper casuals fanbase have been lead to believe, the weight difference on the night between them will likely be minimal. It would be great if Kov were to come in heavy though and was to really sit down on his power so he could punch the Clenbuterol out of Clen's system. 'Although Canelo Alvarez, who is moving up two weight divisions to 175 pounds, did not seek a catch weight for his light heavyweight world title challenge of Sergey Kovalev in an effort to drain him from his natural fighting weight, there is a rehydration clause in the contract, sources told ESPN. It requires both fighters to submit to a weight check on Saturday morning at which neither man can weigh more than 185 pounds, one source said. There are severe financial penalties if either man is over. Kovalev is used to weight checks on the morning of the fight from his days of holding the IBF title because that organization requires them.'
Why am I not surprised. I'm not sure it'll matter that much, I don't think Kovalev rehydrates that much. Although I could be wrong.
Canelo is the same puta who sent a contract offer to Amir Khan to move up 2 divisions and face him (Canelo) at Middleweight (155lbs catch weight) Well, Khan asked Canelo for a re-hydration clause and Canelo the puta refused. Canelo is an elite level fighter but also an elite level puta too. Shame.
many people here said it when the fight was announced there would be a rehydration clause or catchweight, they kept it secret until now that theres a rehydration clause so guess what guys? this fight means nothing and canelita continues to be another fraud. and now this fight means nothing, whole cares if canelita wins.
Who gives a ****? Everyone here is up in arms about how much every other fighter rehydrates, call for same day weigh ins, saying they are fighting above their natural weight class. Now all the sudden everyone's outraged that kovalev can't be over 185 for a fight in the 175 pound weight class. Unbelievable hypocrisy
