    He's just doing what a fighter would do. The people around him are worse than Hearn in this situation IF the clause is true

    If it really is 5lb’s I just hope no harm comes to jnr.. would be the end of Eddie Hearn if anything bad happens

    Unfortunately, that is true. Boxing promoters do not consider the health of the boxers. They only think about making money for themselves.

    I think the entire way that boxing handles weight needs a rethink. The current setup is dangerous and will get fighters killed. Boxers should be in the ring at their proper weight, what they walk around as, not at some artificially low weight they can only make by cutting and rehydrating. There needs to be weight checks, random if neccesary, from a period before the fight and if a set parameter is breached it's off.

    Problem is some boxers just become absolute blobs when they aren’t training. For me they just do two weigh ins - one of which is in the changing rooms before they are due out. If this weight isn’t within a certain % of the first one then purse withheld or huge financial penalty.

    Your approach is probably more practical. I definitely think more than one weight check should take place.
