A forum member @drenlou here claims that that he has the inside scoop and that Mikey is seeking one against Spence.

of course I do, seen pito and Grandpa Garcia at the 'Ortiz vs Molina,' fight. Unlike you im not just a fan. But Spence will have a rehydration clause attached for the fight other than what the IBF allows. Trust.

You shouldn't be able to rehydrate more than ten pounds. It gives an unfair advantage.

If you do not want to fight people in that weight because they may hydrate too much then don't fight at that weight.

I guarantee people like Khan, Garcia and others who try to implement rehydration clauses have had many fights in their career when they steam over a much smaller man. Garcia is one of my favourite boxers but if you are scared of the size then do not move up two weights.

    I'm all for them

The amount people are rehydrating now in fights is rediculous
You have fighters weighing in then rehydrating to over 15-25lbs wtf

    So true.
Prior day weigh-in has made an already bad situation worse. Before that the risk was more in the corner of the guy killing himself to make weight, but nowadays the biggest danger is shifted towards the opponent of the weight drainer.

Another prime example of this is people like canelo
Weighs in at 154/155 and was estimated to be 170-180lbs fight night

FYI — The IBF made the incredibly dubious decision of eliminating the 2nd day weigh in... for championship fights.

Garcia-Zlaticanin comes to mind. Mikey looked like he was 2-3 weight classes bigger. Mikey must have know how much the size difference made an impact.

I think a strict 10 lbs rule (IBF example) for all weight classes isn't
    necessarily a good thing.

I don't have an issue with a rehydration clause per se,
I think there should be a limit as to how much you gain
between weigh in and fight night, but I think
the specific weight should be based upon weight class, ie....
a graduating scale based on weight class perhaps

Go back to same day weigh-ins and not worry about this other stuff.

That was actually the fight that I was trying to think of. It ended in brutal fashion. You cannot pick and choose when you feel it is dangerous and when it isn't.

he won't have to seek one? the ibf have a 10lb next day weigh in anyway, unless it's not going to be for the belt.. which i assume it will be.
I see the point in them though when one guy is moving up 1/2 weight classes.. but when khan is asking for one, when brook is already coming back down in weight its ridiculous
