Ruiz fights very relaxed. I think this gives him great stamina for an "obese" fighter and allows him to be calm during a storm. I think some of his relaxation comes from a very positive belief system. He has great self confidence. He is a Zen-like Buddha master as he calmly moves forward trying to take his opponent's head off.
