I am a slightly overweight male in my late thirties. I was wondering if any personal trainers could suggest measurments that would allow me to gauge the progress of my Cardio Vascualar and Muscular performance with regards to weight training and Boxing?

IE- where should I be losing weight from (body wise)? Should I cover distances faster when running? etc. etc.

    Thank you.

Dave - don't get to tied up in trying to achieve 'strength standards', or where you should be losing weight from.

For performance, use yourself as feedback. You could either use the bleep test, or the cooper test, but i'm not a fan of this type of activity. If you run the 100 metres in 15 seconds, make it your goal to hit 14 etc and build your training programme around your aims, don't worry about what anyone else's performance levels are.

Regarding where you should lose weight from, view your body as one. If you follow a well rounded conditioning programme and controlled diet, you should see weight loss from everywhere.

You can't chose where you lose weight.
