When the officials aren't there, no judges, no refs...the fighters themselves know who won the first time. Marquez knows about the scoring error. If he wins they are 1-1...requiring a rubber match. If Pac wins they are 2-0. Rematch for what...??? Pacman is the only one who should want the rematch.
JMM has no leverage. He had to agree to it. Pac wants to move up if he wins anyway. So even if Marquez had a rematch clause it would be hard for him to get it enforced.
Marquez also believes that he won rounds 2-12(I think Pac only won 1 or 2 rounds after round 1). So in his mind, he won the first fight anyway despite the scoring error.
Marquez says he thinks he won the first match, so that isn't true. He could care less about an error. It's not about him wanting it, it's clearly about Pacquiao having the leverage.
I know, that's another reason why it would make no sense for JMM to try to negotiate a rematch clause.
They are both good fighters. I think Lederman's scorecard was reasonable. I don't think Marquez really believes he won, but I'm no mind reader.
Alot of people thought Marquez won, his corner kept telling him he was up. I can almost guarentee that he believes he won that fight even without the scoring error.
