MMA doesn't have this issue. In mma you are expected to lose.

If social media was a thing 15-20 years ago fans would have said Barerra should have quit after losing to Jnr Jones twice. Styles make fights and losing is name of the game.

He has to take the rematch. It will stay with him for the rest of his career if he doesn't.

Lennox had no problems demanding rematches when it suited him, but never granted them in close fights that he was on the right side of.

I think it's always a plus when a fighter can avenge a loss, but it takes two to sign a contract. For every time the losing fighter doesn't demand a rematch, there's a case where he wants it but the winning fighter won't give him the chance for revenge. Boxing fans, for whatever reason, mostly tend to blame the loser for rematches not happening.

Yes we agree Deontay Wilder recovery was testament of his exceptional bravery & mental toughness, but his genes also helped him

Deontay Wilder & Sugar Ray Robinson have elite Alabama Basin, the best physical breeds of fast twitching punchers come from this stock

Anthony Joshua has aftermarket Bantu-European autosomes, but his genes are inferior because they are derived from commoner Beta autosomes Stock on both sides

What the genes have to do with recovering?

When Luis Ortiz put the beating on Deontay Wilder, Deontay did what we expect from an American Coffee drinking Hero, walked through fire and punished the bad guy in a Violent masculine fashion...Alpha in...Alpha out

    On the other hand

When Andy Ruiz hurt Anthony Joshua, Anthony Joshua did what we expect a rational Tea drinking British subject will do...Quit and be classy about it like his Queen expects him to be...

Another thing about AJ's humble persona is a facada, just watch how he was behaving and talking after the Dyllian Whyte 1 fight. Contrast it to how he was talking and behaving after taking an ass whiping from Ruiz. Karma, he got what he deserved.

The mercer fight there were no belts on the line, it got him closer to the belts. Really no need for rematches in close, non title fights. Unless it’s a daylight robbery.

Had mercer got himself into a position where lewis had to fight him for the belts, he would not hesitate.

Vitali failed his passing of the torch moment with the worst ever version of Lennox. He didn’t even get to the second half of the fight. Even the like of mavorvic the baker went 12.
Lewis rode off into the sunset with a TKO over vitali klitschko. Fantastic career ending fight.

    Complete media fabricated personality.

Everyone should know he was a drug dealer and hired goon called ‘big femi’ who preyed on the vulnerable.

Beneath the media veneer he’s a horrible human. Whyte knows the truth but can’t speak out due to matchrooms lawyers
