Steve Cunningham would have a really shiny record in rematches if you reversed all the robberies he suffered.

(that would give him Shawn Townsend II, Diablo II, Adamek II*, & Hernandez II*)

    I'd rather do Greta Garbo.

(as in have intimate relations with her 26-years-decomposed corpse)

    I'm happy with Louis.

Ray Robinson did a lot of rematches, I think. We all know he fought Lamotta seven times.

Old timers were notorious for rematches.

Guys like Langford fought the same guy (I forget who) twenty times or more.

Pacquiao is surely the modern king of rematches.

I'd be interested to know who has avenged the most losses, particularly in the modernish era. Can't think of anyone with more than 2 off the top of my head.

Monzón avenged all three of his defeats several times over.

    So he's 34-0-2 (18.) in repeat engagements.

All three of his losses were avenged - thrice over in the case of Aguilar & Massi, once for Cambeiro.

In addition, nearly every first-encounter draw he ever had was later avenged once at minimum, if not twice. Andres Selpa (1-0-1), Juan Aguilar (2-0-1), Celedonio Lima (1-0-1), Manoel Severino (1-0-2), Bennie Briscoe (1-0-1), and Emilio Ali (2-0-1) each drew with Monzón when first they met only for him to best them in the future.

When he drew with Carlos Alberto Salinas, he already had two wins over him (and one more to come after the draw).

The draw with Ubaldo Marcos Bustos is his only uncorrected blemish.

34-0-2 (18.) would be a terrific pro record, period.

    30-0 in rematches? :scaredas:

Man, that's a lot of good names in there. I dare say, his rematch resume > Louis's.
