...and the secret is separate browser windows, each snapped to fit to ½-width of the monitor, with the Ctrl+F search function working in one, and my usual 90wpm typing. And OCD.
Poor frikkin Wenzel. He only ended up with a "normal" record - so, not counting newspaper decisions - of 8-5 (7)! atsch Even including newspaper decisions, he still kinda sucks on paper! He actually had a losing NWS record - 16-17-14. In total he was 24-22-14. Not exactly very good!!! What a big mean bully Greb was, picking on this unlucky SOB that many times...hitting double-digits! Good on Whitey, though, for hanging in there and forcing three draws on the Windmill.
Greb probably goes to his manager a day in a month or so "Hey get me me a fight with Whitey again" Need to brush up my skills. :yep Bully! :scaredas:
I'm sure by the seventh or eighth time even pro-Greb crowds had to have been hoping that he'd get KTFO by Wenzel just because of what a great underdog story it'd make.
I'm guessing he wasn't mentioned before now because he crossed some people's minds but they immediately were reminded of and given pause by the controversy that clouds some of his more notable rematches (Liston II - supposed fix with the "phantom" anchor punch; Frazier III - Ali was ready to quit and SJ wanted to continue, that was more of a case of Dundee beating Futch; Patterson II - old Floyd was two decades into his career and badly shot, taking him on again this late was seen as being in poor taste; Norton III and to a lesser extent II - considered robberies, especially the rubber match; Spinks II - it was just plain embarrassing to have even needed to get revenge on Neon Leon in the first place...) but they probably never got around to remembering the very solid if not quite as blockbuster ones like Cooper, Chuvalo, Quarry, and Bugner ...and the bottom line fact is, he did officially rack up eleven rematch victories, over big-time names.
God damn it...after Robinson, Langford, Fitzsimmons and Pep the poll may need to be redone again. :exmad
