One thing now, how did his corner dismiss the obvious signs that things were not going well?? This whole thing could have been avoided.

I think Salido stops him again.

Lopez has a huge heart, it'll be his demise when he faces someone with serious pop, he starts trading without defense when he's hurt, if that happens against an explosive puncher like Gamboa I can see him getting stretched out, big time.

Havent seen enough of Lopez to know what kind of boxing ability he has

had Lopez been like a great boxer who got caught in a brawl and lost I'd say he wins the rematch

but does Lopez have enough gear or direction

    Can Salido repeat that performance?

I imagine Salido now goes in guns blazing in the rematch not respecting Juan and knowing he can get the KO

Imo now is the perfect time for a Lopez vs Mtagwa 2 , it's a fight that should be easy for him because Mtagwa have been inactive for some time now and fans would like to see it , as I said a win over Mtagwa will help him restore face and will give him a lot of confidence for the Salido rematch , he can use it as a tune up if you like because Mtagwa is a similar fighter as Salido , he comes forward all the time and he is also a much wilder puncher than Salido so I think Juanma won't get that hurt if he fights him again , but before he has to work in his conditioning and defense first , then test it against Mtagwa , once he knocks Mtagwa out and shows us he is on the right path then he should take on Salido. Peace.

    When I said " a win " against Mtagwa I meant a CONVINCING win ( K.O ) .

This is why JML will be on his game next fight. He can't and won't let that happen.

Salido has the upperhand. His confidence is pretty high right now while Lopez's continues to sink...

If JML does take care of his flaws and BOX Salido he will be ok , it won't be by KO but I think it will be fairly easy for him , as I said before , he has to keep his composure in the ring and BOX Salido , not brawl with him , that's what Gamboa did , the moment you start BOXING these Mexican brawlers they get lost in the jungle , they are not used to it ( with the exception of Marquez ) . I think that was Lopez biggest mistake that night , he got dragged into a brawl .
Gamboa adapted from the 3rd round onward , he started to use his jab a lot more than in other fights , he used a lot of lateral movement , etc , in & out , in & out , btw in the 4 round Salido caught Gamboa with the same left hook right hand combination wich floored Lopez in the 5th and Gamboa didn't flinch, so I'm begining to believe Gamboa's chin is very underrated ( no doubt due to all those flash kd ) , I urge everybody who thinks Gamboa's chin is weak to watch the 4th round in his fight with Salido and compare it with Lopez 5th round , also Gamboa did the same to Solis ( Box ) and you saw the results , look at Gamboa's 3th round whan he kd Solis , he was BOXING not brawling with Solis , using his footwork and lateral movement very well , I believe that from now on Gamboa will use the same strategy every time he fights a Mexican. So imo the key for a Lopez win in a rematch with Salido will be footwork , combinations and defence , in other words Lopez has to completely readjust his fighting style , if he does that he will win . Peace .

The location will play a significant role. If it's in Puerto Rico again, Lopez could potentially scrape out a controversial decision if he strictly boxes. In Mexico, Salido ruins him.

One thing I'm pretty certain of, if Lopez decides to go toe-to-toe once again, Salido will score the clean highlight reel KO he was on his way to scoring last Saturday.

Lopez is going to do what he couldn't do in the first fight, what Gamboa, Marquez, and Guerrero couldn't do either?

    Wishful thinking.

Salido is only 30 and hasn't been stopped since he learned his craft. Why would think that?

If Juanma does a complete 180 in the way he fights he has chance if not...

    Then Salido same result.
