I think they both deserve it. Crawford has earned another payday, and Canelo has earned the right to challenge for his belts again. But IMO Crawford should walk away from the sport, if being honest.
Again putting words in my mouth saying I hate the Charlo brothers. Wilder had ten title defences and he is seen as a hype job, that was massively protected to the point where he was a fraud to some extent. Don't get me wrong, both Wilder and Charlo were good fighters. But the fact the Charlo brothers were twins gave them a massive marketing boost that very much flattered their actual achievements. The Charlo brothers hardly even fought, let alone against opposition that was even worthy of being the 'undisputed champion', and that is on top of the WBC protecting them and polishing their belt for them by fighting gatekeepers at best??!! So much for being marketed as PBC and Showtime as the "future of boxing". They were protected just as much if not more than Wilder.
If you listened to Canelo post fight, he didn't seem eager for a rematch. Seems like he knows he can't beat Crawford.
I didn't find it to be a fun fight TBH. The fight for me went as expected a tactical chess match with Crawford's mobility and boxing skills being the difference. I thought Canelo's low output and slow feet would be the reason why he loses and I was right. Not to mention Canelo hasn't looked that impressive in quite sometime now. It will just be another low output tactical chess match with Canelo not having the footwork or output to trouble Crawford. Canelo should think about retirement.
