Mayweather vs De La Hoya 2 didn't happen. After fighting De La Hoya, Mayweather dragged Hatton to 147 and then retired for 2 years.
I always wondered why that fight didn't have greater demand for a rematch myself. I'll throw Byrd-Golota into the mix. It was one of the more entertaining heavyweight title fights from 2001-2010 (right there with both Lewis-Vitali and Brewster-Liakhovich), it was a draw, and I think a rematch could have became the start of an interesting high profile rivalry in the early parts of the post-Lewis era.
