Can you think of other prospects that lost just as they began to get a bit of hype? Don't think Etches career recovered too well after the Khomitsky loss
Yeah I think Ohara is fighting Jack Caterall in Leicester in October, if Caterall is the fighter I think he could be, he stops Davis or wins it wide, in my books
I agree with this. I’ve stuck my neck on the line and said Catterall stops him by round 6. Regarding Etches, I couldn’t see him going further than domestic level (no shame in that), maybe he lost heart in it.
Guy was a tosser, he used to goad Khan and insult him on Twitter. Just another Kell Brook groupie. Glad he’s not on tv anymore.
I remember laughing when he got levelled by Khominsky and Jim Watt's reaction when the fight was waved off. Defenitely not a bad kid though, and I like to see him box.
Etches was one of those that became a victim of his own hype. He sold well, and got a few k.os early on, then came khomitsky. Etches lack of implying fundemental defence techniques led to him losing that fight and afaik we haven't seen him since. It is a shame he hung em up after that, a good coach could of improved his game tenfold in a relatively short time. I think he's still involved with Poxon sports in some capacity.
Khomitsky took his soul, then he tried to return and won a couple of bum fights. Then John Ryder battered him and retired him. hes got a promotional company now I hear?
