I don’t support the tactics of Big Red but at the end of the day I don’t think there is a boxer that can stop him unless he plants himself at 175 to unify.

Canelo has improved more than any active boxer in the last 5-7 years in the sport. Like him or not the kid is a monster and has dedication to the sport like no other IMO.

Bivol would go for the win. A Rematchroom Payday and an increase in popularity.

Canelo is only fighting a rigged fight against Euro-bum Bivol so he can duck Fury and Usyk.

I agree with the stacking but disagree that his fights aren't paid off.

Of course, there is no evidence in the sense there's no written or verbal documentation of Canelo/his team paying off fighters (if someone was fixing fights this is an area you'd obviously want to cover your back). However, the evidence that suggest a very high possibility of his fights being fixed are the fights themselves.

Let's say there is one fight where one fighter gets punched by probing jab, goes down and the fight is called off. Let's say it is clear as day that fight was a fix and that there is no doubt about it as the punch looked like it had zero impact. Yet no investigation is carried out and people carry on as if it was nothing. There's no documentation or verbal comments that expose the fight as fix. In this instance, it would be silly not to call it out as what it is regardless of "official" evidence. It would be very reasonable to call that fight a fix.

Lets take Kovalev for instance. He had barely a 6 week camp following the Yarde fight in which he almost got knocked out in one of the rounds. Despite this he dominated most of the rounds and laid Yarde out with a jab. Now Yarde is a guy who looks like he could make cruiser. Despite Yarde having a limited skillset, he is heavy handed, and is quite a good and fast counterpuncher. Kovalev had also recently before this beaten an almost cruiser looking Eleider in quite impressive fashion.

I do not believe for one instance that Kovalevs short camp and almost getting knocked out in a round is the reason for his performance against Canelo.

    Kovalev did the following :
-pitty pat with every punch against a 160lber.
-not extend his arms when throwing punches/pull punches.
-show zero hesitation to punches coming back
-demonstrate minimal in out and lateral movement (which he demonstrated the fight before)
-countless times in the fight where Canelo was there to be hit and Kovalev wouldn't do anything
-not throw straight shots even when height/reach advantage would make it extremely difficult to counter

A shot fighter does not do these things. A shot fighter does not simply not extend his punches throughout the entirety of a fight. Kovalev demonstrated all these attributes in fights just before the Canelo fight. Kovalev has been in there with heavier and much harder punchers than Canelo. Just because someone is a good counterpuncher does not mean someone is going to pull most of their punches and pitty pat all fight. Better counterpunchers face much more fierce resistance.

There is no case for Kovalev being" scared" of counters in there. He literally looked like he didn't care in the ring.

When there's numerous dodgy fights like this you've got to consider Canelos team is outright buying his opponents off. I'm sorry but I'm not just going to accept his fights as legit when there is recurring theme of sparring in them.

4-5 opponents since GGG have literally come to lose. It's getting ridiculous

George, you like to think yourself as a boxing historian, but this credibility hangs in doubt when you're as naive as 12 year old believing in Clenelo's fixed fights.

I think that Kovalev's hesitancy can be ascribed to other factors such as his catchweight and short camp and age.

That said, your argument is a well thought out one. If it ever comes to light that fighters were paid to lose you can take a bow.

I see a lot of crying going on in here. Only casuals or butthurt GGG fanboys would make such arguments.

This is all a rouse for fans who simply don't know how to score prizefights. Grow up you cowardly GGG excuse makers.

Globenady Globelovkin, your fearless leader who got wrecked by Canelo twice. Instead of thanking your lucky stars for two judges saving GGG the first time and letting him keep his titles temporarily, before having them snatchd by Canelo the 2nd time, you cry about it like a schoolgirl.

The hiding Canelo gave Globenady in the rematch was like the hiding I gave you and your boyfriend in the Globehead topic. Just a steady stream of power punches, walking forward eating your weak jabs like skittles and dishing out an unrelenting amount of punishment.

You two cakeboys need to learn your lessons. You've made a mockery of yourselves defending your hero Globelovkin and defending your Globe. You continue to mock what you can't compete with and align yourself with a deceiver puppet like GGG. You talk a big game, but deep down you're insecure about all your positions. I genuinely feel sorry for you, that you refuse to see logic and sound reasoning and instead choose to live in the doldrums like your hero GGG.

Clenbuterol - drinking Clenelo will never be as much of a man as Triple Globe, GGG.

Tell us any other fighter who gave Canelo not just 12 but the most difficult 24 rounds of his career? Floyd pot shot Big Red for 12 rounds but Canelo and GGG laid some pain and leather on each other for 24 beautiful rounds.

Best fights of both guys career.

These guys just hate him. They did the same to Mayweather. That just means he's on top.

Couldn't agree more. GGG gave Canelo a much stiffer test than Floyd did. Floyd was more elusive against Canelo, but GGG while taking shots was never deterred and kept coming forward dishing out some pain and leather. Both GGG bouts were wars Floyd's match with Canelo was a chess match. GGG inflicted more damage on Canelo than Floyd did because he's more heavy handed.

Even at 40 years old by the time they fight, GGG is arguably still the biggest threat to Canelo. GGG would be a fresh and well preserved 40 with an iron chin, but it remains to be seen what toll the Murata match will have on GGG. If Murata gives GGG a war, it could soften him up for Canelo at such a long amount of inactivity for GGG, on the other hand it could be a benefit to GGG to have a match first before stepping in there with Canelo, especially at 168. This would be a new weight for GGG and his first step to that weight would be against Canelo.
