    Remember how I used to rate Cleverly above Dawson at LHW? Well...

    When I used to rate Cleverly above Dawson at LHW, people used to disagree but over time It has been proven again for all that said otherwise.


    Lets look into this now

    Cleverly beats undefeated top 10 LHW Murat inside the distance, who went on to push Hopkins to points in a tough fight

    Cleverly beats undefeated top 10 LHW Bellew, who went on to beat top 10 rated comp and go on to challenge for a title

    Cleverly beats Mohammedi who is now looking in line for a title shot

    Cleverly beats Kuziemski in 4 rounds who after was a good enough opponent for Pascal and took Pascal the distance

    Cleverly beats Krasniqi whos not been beaten since

    Cleverly beats Karpency by complete shut out who goes on to beat C Dawson

    I was one of the few posters who predicted a Pascal victory over Dawson and that Ward would beat Dawson with ease.
    I also rated Cleverly above Dawson and now you can all see where I was coming from.


    What this has also shown is how good Kovalev is

    Dawson losing to Karpency tonight doesn't magically change anything that happened before it.

    Dawson always deserved to be rated higher at LHW than Cleverly.

    Look it showed the level. Had Dawson fought Karpency sooner it would have happened sooner

    Look Nonito.
    I predicted Pascal to beat Dawson
    Ward to beat Dawson easily.

    I was never convinced about Dawson with certain styles. Look how Dawson looked against Johnson and Hopkins respectively.
    I think Cleverly at that time at LHW would have easily beaten Dawson. Easily.
    Then we had a Cleverly opponent who Nathan shut out use a style that Dawson struggled with

    I have to agree that Cleverly got a bit underrated once he got mauled by Kovalev, like many of his victims.
    But Dawson from today is something completely different as Dawson from before the 168 sidestep blunder.

    Karpency was rated 77 at boxrec before last night's bout and rightly so. He had fought 3 good opponents in his career and had lost all 3 without much of a chance until this upset.
    Pre 168 sidestep Chad would have probably 120-108'd the guy if he had given him an undeserved shot at his belt.

    But Cleverly is indeed better as that he's made out to be today and would probably have given Chad a run for his money or even upsetted him if they had fought back in 2012.

    Cleverly beat Tommy The Nurse one sided for every second of every round.

    Clev never ranked above Dawson when Chad was champ tho, thats just crazy talk.

    Rankings are something that can be just opinions and with Dawson I can see manys arguement, but I am not disputing that, I am saying I rated Cleverly above Dawson with my own opinion and now you can see why I expect

    I can go with your post Robney.
    I predicted Dawson to lose to Pascal and Ward (easily) I didnt think SMW after being a LHW for so long was a good idea, but I also felt at LHW there were certain styles that would cause problems like Pascals

    You make it sound like those 3 opponents beat him easily, the only man to beat Tommy Karpency easily to this day is Nathan Cleverly, Karpency was beating Fonfara

    lets see. one guy beat hopkins, adamek, harding, johnson x2, tarver x2 and diaconu.

    the other beat.. idk who he beat tbh. ohh yeah, bellew and that hawk something guy.. impressive..

    those three guys chad lost to would beat clev, who hasnt beat anyone who even belongs in the same ring as chad.

    the disrespect Chad gets around here is ridiculous, he lost to the second best fighter on the planet then got caught by one of the biggest punchers on the planet and somehow that puts him in cleverly's league?

    Cleverly was never really World class and Dawson is now well past his best, on his way to being a shot fighter. Plus the LHW division has been weak for years now. Not too difficult to understand is it.
