This was Mayweather's six approved opponents for his contract http://www.boxingnews24.com/2013/02...ents-for-six-fight-contract-with-showtimecbs/ Robert Guerrero Marcos Maidana Alfredo Angulo Danny Garcia Saul “Canelo” Alvarez Devon Alexander He's stuck to that list so far. One thing about Mayweather is when he makes a "hit list," he stays committed to it. In 2009, GBP gave the following names as Mayweather's hitlist when he came out of retirement: JMM Pacquaio Mosley Cotto Ortiz With the exception of Pacquaio, all these fights have happened. quotes from Schaffer below in 2009 "If people thought Floyd Mayweather Jr. was going to return for a payday or two and then head back into retirement, they are very mistaken. Mayweather returns to the ring on July 18 against Juan Manuel Marquez at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. Floyd has been away from the ring since a December 07 knockout of Ricky Hatton. Since Mayweather’s return, we’ve heard the constant mention of the infamous “hit list” that Floyd provided to Golden Boy Promotions CEO Richard Schaefer. Speaking exclusively with ***********.com’s Luis Sandoval, Schaefer disclosed some of the names on Floyd’s hit list. Manny Pacquiao was an obvious name. Others like Shane Mosley and Miguel Cotto are there too. And even a potential fight the down the road with junior welterweight Victor Ortiz, who many view as a future superstar in the sport." When I look at the current showtime list, Garcia is definitely an option. I thought Angulo's name being on the list was ridiculous at the time, but if he were to beat Canelo, who knows. I just can't really see Mayweather moving up to 154 again unless it was a big name, but he's on the list. It would be quite impressive if things worked itself out & he stuck to those names on that list Team Mayweather originally submitted to Showtime.
Lets hope Angulo is able to cheat floyd like he did lara by coming in at 175 and a small ring. Floyd wouldnt survive.
So we get Maidana this time, if Angulo wins (doubt he does) we get him next, then he takes on Shawn Porter since he beat Alexander, and then he retires with a fight with a hyped up Danny Garcia. Sounds like he wants to really go down as the best of all time and if he somehow manages to get past that opposition.. Who can argue? lol
