Remember Peter Quillen wanted 10 million to fight GGG. He instead fought Andy Lee for 500,000 and came in over weight. Had to pay Lee 125k of his purse. He also ducked Korobov. Now look where he is, he cant get any fights. Im not sure even if he will fight Jleon Love.

Quillins bone density was never really suited for MW and weight draining can leave fighters with less than great chins very vulnerable in the opening rds.

Jacobs got there first, but that fight could have easily been the exact opposite result.

It was a terrible L but when/if he wants to return as a force, the SMW division is ripe for the taking.

He's far better than the Lee and Jacobs fights suggest

I would like to see Quillen fight Korabov now. Both need fights. Quillen ducked him turning down 1.4 million. Korabov although old is a way better fighter than Jleon.

Quillen should have taken the 1.4 million. The only reason he didn't was because Rocnation won the purse bid. I dont know if he will ever see another good payday.

The current Welter's were afraid of Brook, so there's no surprise they're also afraid of Spence.

If Jacob's didn't catch Quillin cold he would have boxed his head off.

And that would be a 70/30 type prediction.
Not sure if I made the right point.

My point has everything to do with weight
and both Danny and Quillin are highly vulnerable early in their fights because of it.
I'm in no way saying Quillin<Jacobs

But I am saying he will be more durable at 168.
And really....I don't see ANYONE AT SMW with DJs power or speed. Hell....punch for punch I guarantee Lee huts harder than the top SMWs.
And while I'm no "fan" of Quillin, I do appreciate his power, strength and conditioning.
I'll concede though...on the record that he is Jermain Taylor vs the big hitters with iron(Froch/Abe)...I could see GG in a close fight but down before putting Quillin out. Same for Benavides and even the sickening underperforming Chavez Jr.
    And.....
He's f/n Lacy'd vs an iron chin boxer like BJS and even DeGale might just be durable enough to give Quillin a lesson

BJS isn't necessarily 'iron chinned'.....it's his defence which has resuled in us having no clue whether he can take a punch.

    DeGale is awful though.

He actually reminds me a bit of a British Bute.....

Completely overhyped, and would get destroyed by Froch.

By refusing to fight Golovkin, Quillin lost a big payday.................fighting Jacobs for nothing was his fault!

I always thought the RocNation bid was a play from Jay-z to embarrass uncle Al, with Quillin in the middle of it.
It was a win-win move for him whatever happened next, at the cost of probably some caclulated losses if Haymon let Quillin take the fight.

Eventually Quillin's career hasn't really been screwed up due to him signing with Haymon imo. He slightly overachieved and got overpaid when he still held the belt, and his lost time inbetween kinda levelled that all out a bit for me. And like some already mentioned, SMW is wide open at the moment, maybe he could actually snatch a belt at that weightclass too.

Never liked the guy though and yes, he feared Golovkin as much or even more as any of the beltholders at the time.

That's what happens to low IQ people. They don't know how to handle temporary success.
