When khans viewing figures for his previous ppvs were terrible...add to this that they went for a khan fight vs a guy that's not a big name over the biggest heavyweight title fight in years Khan vs bradley is the only fight other than a rematch with maidana that would do a ppv here Saying that I still say a khan vs prescott sells better than khan vs mccloskey
It was the right decision at the time by Sky for me. Khan needed a fight between Maidana and the biggie with the Bradley/Alexander winner in the summer - it was assumed they'd get a good opponent (which they did) but the undercard turned to **** and Sky have rightly redded it and put it on regular. Haye had form for pissing them around with the Klitschko fights not happening and was probably expected to wait his turn..... looking at their last fights, Khan had a near FOTY, yet Haye's was a ridiculous mismatch. If Haye does fight Klitschko I don't mind paying £15 for it, but I'm glad that Sky have put their foot down and not let others dictate terms.
Prescott would sell to the casuals, and do you honestly believe they chose Khan v mccloskey over Haye Wlad?
****ing hell. Are people STILL stupid enough to think it was Khan/McCloskey that held back Haye/Klitschko? atsch...
These boxer-promoters i.e. Khan and Haye do not have a stable to put on cards, yet they have no problem getting dates from Sky for PPV events. And it is not as if they are compensating the punters with real pick em world title defences. I am glad Sky have pulled Khan-McCloskey from Sky Box Office, it is a good step forward, but it is questionable if these boxer-promoters should be allowed to run PPV shows when they invest little or nothing in a stable to warrant being given a PPV event.
Sky wanted Khan V Prescott FACT!! They also won't take anyone over David Haye, especially against a Klitschko..
