Anyone here remember this bout........it took place in 1983 and a 202 pound St Gordon outboxed Trevor Berbick all over the ring..Gordon was not even a real heavyweight....Berbick could do nothing right in the ring that day...........that was a bizzarre match up and outcome........and the bout was on free tv..also after the bout Gordon was ranked in the top ten for heavyweights for awhile and rightfully so...............:smoke.............
i watched this fight, it was on ABC i think, berbick had talent but was kind of a head case. he seemed like he wasnt interested in fighting.
Berbick was weird. He was the first to beat Greg Page and Pinklon Thomas, and he went the whole 15 with Holmes , but got knocked in the first by the mediocrity Bernardo Mercado and lost in a very dismal performance against ST Gordan . It's hard to figure out if he was a bum that overachieved, or a real talent that underachieved.
