Povetkin will have more success than Takam.

Yes I remember. It was shameful how the referee gave extra time to Joshua to rest and a gift stoppage as well.

He will have more success, but then you could argue that Joshua won't have a broken nose in this fight. Joshua won't have that to deal with mid-fight against Povetkin.

And if povetkin gets ugly and makes this a war, Joshua will love that and he'll engage as well. There will be no running. And that's why I don't understand why people think you shouldn't buy it.. This fight is going to be the second most entertaining, after klitschko of course. Thing is, Povetkin can't outbox Joshua, he's too small. And he can't win a war with him either, because Joshua is physically stronger than any heavyweight currently, maybe even in history.

Povetkin will give a good showing, but he is too small, too slow and he'll get bullied by Joshua if things get fiery up close.

^ This. I can almost guarantee that AJ / Povetkin will be better than Wilder / AJ.

Disagree on the outboxing. Povetkin is more skilful than Joshua, has a wider variety of punches and slips very well. I think that he can do it. The real question is whether he can handle Joshua's strength and size and youth. That's where I have my doubts, tbh.

Joshua is basically an arm puncher. And when it gets in close quarters, I have no doubts Povetkin will be the one winning the exchanges.

If Povetkin can get past the jab and make Joshua fight it could be interesting. But he's 39 so.....

If I were Joshua I'd keep him outside till a few rounds have passed and he hopefully starts to gas.

    Oh hold on....

Povetkin is tailor made for Joshua. I suspect a brutal stoppage is coming. A short come forward pressure fighter getting agressive against the superior bodybuilder? They will be scrapping Alexander off the canvas, he was floored 3 times against Klitschsko, that was more than 4 years ago. Please Deontay, go over to Moscow and talk Povetkin out of it, lol.

Yeah Frank Bruno was physically strong, so was Mike Tyson... but they lacked mental strength... physical strength can only get u so far. boxing is mostly about mental strength, especially towards the end of the fight. Povetkin won't make the same mistake Klitschko did, and let Joshua off the hook. he will crouch down really low, put his head on Joshua's chest, then explosively land a left hook on JOshua's chin.... and BOOM.

I honestly don’t think Povetkin is going to be a come-forward pressure fighter against Joshua. I hope he is though, because Joshua will just pick him off otherwise, taking rounds.

The downside for Povetkin is that if he does come forward I can see Joshua getting the KO.

Broken nose played a big factor

I can see povetkin walking on to something big trying to get in

But we should consider that Povetkin is older now.

Prime Povetkin would have a very good chance against Joshua, but not the current age 39 version.

Remember when Joshua came in way too heavy at 255lbs and looked slow and plodding having taken the fight on a weeks notice?

Joshua will be the quick precise sharp shooting hitman he was against Brezzeale and will make Povetkin walk through absolute hellfire as he moves forward.

In no universe do I see Povetkin coming close to winning this bout.
