some may not think kovalev is as complete as others...some may think hes a bit overrated....some may not think he as good as ward or can beat him...some may say they see holes in his game now we know kovalev has the same complexion as gennady golovkin.....but heres what basically nobody says about kovalev nobody says kovalev is a fraud nobody accuses kovalev of being a ducker nobody says kovalev is afraid of a certain fighter nobody thinks kovalev is afraid of a certain style nobody thinks kovalev is protected by his promoter nobody thinks kovalevs trainer is a talking boob
This is true, Kovalev deserves more hype than GGG, but for whatever reasons he doesn't really appeal to the GGGoons... it's a shame given his resume is better, he's willing to fight the best, and he holds the same amount of titles as GGG, yet GGG gets all the hype...
I like both guys. I don't understand why their isn't more fan crossover. Both entertaining fighters, with dynamite in their hands who have a ruthless streak. What's not to like?
The reason certain posters here give Golovkin more hype than Kovalev is because they find Golovkin attractive. It's subconscious so they don't know it yet lol. Kovalev > Golovkin.
One word ... HBO I agree to a certain point, but it does work both ways. If you rate Kovalev, give GGG some respect because Kovalev has a lot of respect for GGG. They are friends, and neither are frauds.
I can't give GGG credit because Kovalev respects him as a fighter, that would be unethical for me considering he has a weak resume and won't acknowledge Lara as a real opponent. Not to mention he won't make concessions for a Canelo fight...
Bull****. Several black panther scumbags here claimed that Kovalev ducked Stevenson and he is just a "Kan Krusher" nothing more hence a fraud. Those race soldiers viciously hate every good white fighter, you are not convicing anyone.
Ah, this is the one issue which we tend to disagree on ... I respect your opinion but would be interested to see your response on the following points. Re resume: yes, it's a poor resume, which is partly GGG's fault as he signed with the wrong promoter for years as a pro. It took a court case to get him free and wasted years of his prime. I admit that I personally feel a little sorry for him (ok this may be a source of bias), the frustration must have been immense: one mistake with such major consequences career-wise (he was fighting C-level opponents while he clearly had the talent to make the big-time earlier). Just imagine if the wrong promoter had got hold of Floyd or Pac or Loma or Crawford and failed to get him any decent fights at all. What a waste of talent it would've been! Re making concessions: In those days the younger GGG offered to fight Barker, Sturm for free or on the cheap just to build up his career. The problem is now is that GGG's team realize he's old and now want to maximize the remaining profit at all costs. I still think in 2017 he will make concessions to try to get the Canelo fight. He has to, there are no other good options really. He's been hanging around for the Canelo fight for years now. Re Lara: If he's not interested in Lara because he's fighting Jacobs that's fine by me, Jacobs is the better opponent imo. If he takes a rubbish voluntary defence without trying Lara then - you can dig this up - I'll revise my opinion.
