    I agree mostly with that, his team needs to back him more and trust that he can fight at the top level for three more years or so. Make sacrifices and get two good opponents in 2017, and then dictate terms for a couple of megafights. Of course, if he loses in 2017 it's all gone, but sometimes you have to take risk. Ironically, the Brook fight did do wonders for his popularity with casuals although it obviously did nothing for his resume.

    I still don't like the way Golden Boy and Haymon are using GGG's lack of good opponents at 160 to drive a hard bargain though, seems a little unethical to say "hey, you can't get anyone else in the ring with you, make concessions!" but business is business and you gotta do what you gotta do.
    I'd watch the Lara fight even though I think Lara gets smashed. It would just be like the WBC/WBA/IBF to order some pointless mandatory instead of giving GGG a voluntary though, really really hope this does not happen. The choice of yet another overmatched opponent or vacating the belt is a horrible situation for all boxing fans.

    its boxing....its never been a textbook case of business ethics lol.....thats how it works....you do things and get names on your resume and it helps at the bargaining table.....ive long said that golovkins inability to get people in the ring(whether his fault or not) will hurt him....some people are looking at how he operates and they may freeze him out if they can....thats why many are putting pressue on golovkin to do what it takes to make some big fights...its not because they want to see golovkin get the short end of the stick.....some of us that hate on him genuinely want to see him in big fights...i could care less if he tears canelos head off! i just wanna see the fight......so hes got to accept reality and do what it takes....if he fancies the fight and feels confident enough then he might have to take a smaller stake than he feels he deserves

    this thread rocks bumdog fans to their core......their favorite excuse as to why golovkin gets ripped is because of his skin color.....but kovalev doesnt get ripped....its just easier excuse for them than for them to look deep into how k2 and golovkin operate and actually criticize them........this reality hurts them that the same people that rip golovkin have no beef with kovalev
