That means nothing to be honest...Have you heard of the term STYLES MAKES FIGHTS!...So just because Quintana was able to do that doesnt exactly mean Pavlik will do the samething.
Well, forgeting about the possible loaded glove issue, the guy does have a point. Margo just came on a little too late.
The reason he lost to Quintana was the mohawk, it ****ed up his balance which caused confusion and allowed quintana to get his shots in I believe Paul has learnt his lesson since then
Don't forget what happened to Quintana in the rematch...and don't forget what 50 y/o Hopkins did to Kelly.:deal
You don't get it...:tired The p4p **** is when someone try to justify a fight because of that (pbf-JMM) or DLH saying by beating Pacquiao he will become p4p #1. Hope its now clear.
Paul Williams: + Showed good head-movement and in-out mobility against Winky + Showed that he can finally fight at a distance against Winky + Showed that he can follow a game-plan for 12 rounds against Winky + Beat a smaller man who was very very rusty in Winky + Showed against guys like Margarito and Phillips that he can fight through adversity - Has had a bad habit in the past of fighting on the inside for no reason - Not really a middleweight, tops out at 157, comes in on fight night at 162-165. - Not much of a counter-puncher Kelly Pavlik: + Has good power +/- Can close well on a fighter but also tends to follow opponent around the ring - Has a tendency to jump in leading a left hook from long distances - Not a good inside fighter + Good technical 1-2 fighter that's hard to hit from range + Solid chin, he was wobbled visibly by Taylor but not by Hopkins - Underdeveloped physically, punches hard when set but can no punch off the back-foot, can be physically overpowered on the inside (though possibly not by P.Williams) - Not much of a counter-puncher It's such a close fight for me.
When was the last time Kelly has used movement? He's not real big on using movement. He's gonna be beat by Williams because of that fact.
Pavliks has problems with guys that are faster than him and who can box and move well. Taylor gave him all sorts of problems, but he (Taylor) just doesn't have the stamina. Hopkins with his old legs and all, still uses the ring wisely, setting traps and utilized his faster handspeed and superior defense to befuddle Pavlik. Williams is no defensive master, but he does have a great chin, great stamina, and superior workrate and hand speed than Pavlik.
How come every one who brings this up always forgets the rematch? Picture may say 1000 words but Quintana barely lasted 100 seconds in the rematch
