Remember when a retirement home morales took maidanas lunch money

He didn't Maidana's lunch money (he still lost), He did stand up for himself.

I had Morales winning that fight.

Who knows how much roids had to do with that victory though. Maidana was roided out of his mind after his 1st retirement. We've seen what roids do to old fighters, aka Guillermo Jones, Holyfield, Fat Toney, etc.

 

EM lost at the end of the day noble effort but still resulted in him holding that L.

You do realize how shot to pieces Morales was at that time?

Morales best weight was 126 pounds and he went up to 147 while old and fat and took a prime Welterweight life and death?

Yeah he was good but overrated here on ESB. If he had not beaten #48 he wouldn't be even regarded that highly.

 

That was a bad ass fight. I had a fight party for that and I remember everyone telling me EM was shot and Maidana was too big and too strong, and I remember saying Every Great boxer has one great performance left in him and Morales was going to surprise everybody with his performance! What a performance by EM that was!

 

That was when Maidana was at 140 lbs not 147.

 

True. I jumped the gun. But Maidana was pretty big and strong for a LWW.

The only reason Morales lost that fight by the narrowest of margins was because he had gassed out as ultimately he was shot + fat at the weight.
He beat up Maidana far more than Mayweather did though.
