Remember when Floyd was so eager to prove the critics wrong in the Gatti fight?

Alot people actually thought that gatti had a chance and most people were rooting for him. Floyd felt disrespected by this and took this personally. We all know what happened next. Floyd came out like a man on a mission ( which isn't his style ) and destroyed him.. He had something to prove so he went all out.. That side doesn't come out often but he does have that beast inside him.

I see the same thing happening here with Pacman. Majority of the fans are picking Floyd to beat him but the truth is, they'd rather see him get KTFO by Pacman and he knows it. I bet he feels disrespected again and he's taking this personally.

    Thoughts?

I think you are giving him too much credit Finito.
But I sure hope he feels that way.

He was a beast in the Gatti fight.

FLoyd will definately be motivated for this fight. But so will Pacquiao, this is the big one for him as well. I think it will be the first time the #1 P4P fights the #2 since Chavez-Whitaker? Or was it RJJ-Toney?

In my opinion Mayweather would stop Pacquiao. I agree with what you say, i think he'd put everything into this fight, shut all his doubter's wrong and smash Pacquiao to bit's

If Floyd thinks he can treat Pac like Gatti he will be knocked out.
Floyd used to say his favorite fighter to watch was Pacquaio. Floyd in my opinion will take this very seriously.

First of all Pac is not Gatti and its ridiculous to compare the two. Pac is better as a boxer in all departments than Gatti was.

Gatti was there to be hit and therefore he was. It was like when Roy Jones Jr decided to beat the crap of Vinny Paz. I can't see him putting on that type of clinic against Manny Pacquiao even if he tried. Manny is too good to be dominated the way Gatti was, even if he will be the smaller man coming into this fight. One thing to take into account is that although Manny is smaller he may be the harder hitting one of the two.

Its easy Gatti was the good guy and the fan favorite, You know that fighter with a fan favorite stile, can punch and is a boxer that can turn in to a brawler will be on top of the opverrated boxer a la Lacy, Gatti, Ward ect. A good example look at Vazquez an inactive fighter that was losing to b, to c clas fighters like Gonzales, and Guerrero and was lucky to win on both of them is ranked even in the top 5 p4p is a very true case of overrrating. Because he has a fan favorite style. If you look at Gatti at that time even people had him in the top 10 p4p list, that is someting to be ashame about.

Im not comparing Gatti to pac.

The point im trying to make is that Floyd will be extra motivated for this fight.

I'm looking at the past predictions articles of two other boxing websites right now and about 25/40 journalists picked Mayweather to beat Gatti, certainly not a landslide by any means. Many that picked Mayweather still thought that he'd be roughed up.

Obviously Pac is of a different class, but Mayweather is at the last leg of his career and knows that he'll have to pull out all the stops to beat the best. I think the 2 year layoff will have done his body a lot of good.

I'd love to see the punch stats for that fight, i honestly dont rememebr Floyd missing a single punch. But what the hell was Gatti doing trying to outbox him, to this day i've not figured that out, Buddy Mcgirt must have lost his mind!

Oh come on Gatti had been considered finished like 5 times before Mayweather got to him. DLH did the same thing to him befor he had as much wear and tear. What made it worse was Mayweather was quick to point out and loud about the fact Gatti was a C- fighter I think it was. Well, why the hell you fighting him then? HAHAHAHAHA Floyd, no wonder he lets Ellerbe do most of his talking.

I tottally agree with you. Alot of PPl are gonna pick Pacquiao and Mayweather is gonna go in there like a mad man and take him out. remeber that fight was at 140, nobody wants to see Mayweather at 140
