They draw huge audiences in Germany due to the lower cost of tickets which is common at German sporting events. If big fights in the US and UK were as cheap they would draw huge crowds as well.

Yeah, bring back the days of Larry Holmes fighting guys like Lorenzo Zanon and Leroy Jones. Those fights were huge compared to those little Klitschko fights. The hype was almost unbearable.

    This. :deal

not being american would give them and advantage in the sense that they could become HUGE stars...

they would be seen as the "evil russians that must be stopped"

Its pathetic that most of the Klitlickers have the same basic mentality of this racist fool! As soon as people point out the obvious about the Bros he is the first to talk about race. Do you guys have an inferiority complex or something? How hard is it to understand that yes they are good guys but they are boring as **** in and out of the ring.

Effective yet boring equals thank god HBO and the other networks do waste money on that garbage! That being said I want them to stay around as long as possible . . . I am hoping that the Heavyweight division might produce a challenger that might be worthy (this doesn't seem possible until well after the Olympics, but one can always hope).

Yeah but you had fighters like Tyson, Bowe, Morrison, LL all making noise coming up. Not to mention not to mention Don king (who makes Arum look like Jesus) could hype and sell a fight.

Plus you proved my point. Larry was not as colourful as Ali and not as fan friendly fighting style as Tyson so ratings dropped during that era.

Vitali and Wladimir consistently does over 10million viewers in Germany, and huge numbers from every other country in Europe too.
    Wouldn't call it dead.

I think it's funny that as soon as Klitschko fans start to post, the thread degenerates into racial arguments and we get nonsense like "If Wlad aand Vitali are so bad, what about ____ or ____ or _____".

The worst fans on ESB, bar none.

...The division is a wasteland, it's as simple as that.
It's not just the Klitschko's, but their mostly pathetic opposition as well. We were spoiled in the '90's, the '80's and the '70's.
All three decades had some outstanding heavyweight talent and outstanding champions.

I won't bother to watch the fight...no point. It will only reinforce my opinion that the divison is dead, and make me angry that I could have spent the time better doing something else.
A far cry from the halycon days of the past, where I'd be pumped for days before a big heavyweight fight and everyone was talking about it.

The Wlad-Haye fight was the last straw. I invited a friend over to watch the fight, and I was embarrased to say that that was the best the division had to offer.
