I think GGG will eventually understand that. You have to beat a cash cow to become one unless you have huge fan base. And there're only two of them now.

Hopkins made something like 14m for DLH.

GGG made something around $2.5m vs Lemieux. $10m vs Canelo doesn't sound far fetched to me, or at least something close to that.

What's the world coming to when ggg can have the cheek to ask that the fight for the middleweight title should be held at the middleweight weight limit pfff

What the hell do you guys be talking about, who are these guys Alvarez has a huge weight advantage on?

Lara,Trout,Angulo all came into the ring the same size, the fact is half a pound or a pound in a non title fight is no big deal.

There is a reason why Alvarez is rated as a JMW on every ranking and not MW.

We will have to see how well Cotto/Canelo sells, if it does a million or more then maybe Golovkin can expect a purse around that mark or a few million off. But based off Cotto's and Canelo's recent PPV numbers Canelo/Golovkin or Cotto/Golovkin won't sell enough to expect anywhere near $10 million for Golovkin.

Canelo/Cotto will 1 million buys easy bro. I think around 1.2 and that's a conservative figure. Canelo/Angulo did like 350K. Angulo is virtually unknown and now Canelo is fighting Cotto, another big star. This will do 1 million EASY.

Oscar was a big welter/small JMW, so he and Bernard met at the middle. Also, neither Oscar, no Bernard was a mandatory for the other guy. The same way, Golovkin and Mayweather could meet in the middle at 154.

Canelo is a good size middleweight hiding in between weight classes and taking on smaller guys, and Golovkin will be his mandatory.

    Totally different situations.

Delahoya was at the end of his impressive career run, going up his 6th!!!!!!!!! weight class, well beyond the limits of his body. Everyone thought he was too small for a middleweight. On top of that, he was long past his prime, and looked terrible in the ring with a real middleweight, losing a wide decision to Felix Sturm. He also was THE MAN to fight to make money in the entire sport, the golden boy.

Canelo is still on his first weight class (we can't seriously considered 155 to be a new weight class, more like an ugly extension to 154). He is much younger than Genady, in his physical prime, and a natural middle weight, that abuses his youth to avoid fighting men his size.

Plus, to really end this thread for good : Oscar did not go into the ring at 172 + lbs, like Canelo does on the fight night.

I am going to go as far as saying this: No boxing fan can, in all good conscience, side with Canelo on the weight issue. If you do, you're not a fan of the sport, you are a fan of a boxer (or a hater of another boxer).

Yep, I remember that hopkins weighed in at 156 for the oscar fight.
Difference is, he wasn't mandated to. He just did. Oscar was man
enough to meet hops at the middleweight limit, wheras prima donna
diva Canelo isn't against GGG. Assuming he wins, but then diva Cotto
won't either. Man, the world is getting needy and soft.

Why should that even matter? He should want to top Hopkins at least, he says he could make 154 for Floyd..:patsch

Canelo is not mandated to either. He has not beat Cotto yet and Cotto is the champion. If GGG just wants to fight Canelo he will have to bend to Canelo.
