But Prescott landed about 3 shots. Canelo landed more

 

He took plenty of shots from Canelo for 5 previous rounds.

The shot that put him away would have put most MWs away. It was fully loaded.

Any knockout punch would put most fighters away full stop if it landed clean. The fact is it landed clean on Khan and that is why he lost.

 

The best thing about Khan is the way his face and body react when he's knocked out. It's always highlight reel material, always a heavy loss of bodily control, as if his CNS has been short-circuited, arms flailing, legs giving out or stuttering like there's an oil sleek under his feet. His face is perfect for a reaction shot, long, goofy, plug-like and when he still has his senses, his features register disappointment, frustration, shock and panic all at once.

It's all so much more cartoonish and larger than life than anyone else, as if taken from the pages of a comic; he's been slumped in the corner, dumped on his ass, performed some incredible chicken dances and now, taking inspiration from late era Roy Jones (who runs him close in the cartoon knock-out stakes), made the audience think he might actually be dead. The lights weren't on and there was definitely nobody home. If he goes on, all he needs is to take an uppercut that appears to lift him off his feet and for his gum shield to fly out for the reel to be GOAT.

To give him his due, he is enormously courageous, though some might call it foolhardy. Even when he's full Bambi-on-ice mode, he wants persist, even beckoning Garcia onto him with his glove when he no longer had full control of his lower body. Against Limond, he desperately tried to stay on his feet as he took repeated shots to the head and his balanced slipped away from him.

There's no longer a case to be made that he doesn't have a glass jaw, that it's all about his frequent slips in defense or the timing of the knockouts. He's been knocked down early (cold) against Breidis, smashed while trading (Garcia), and now one-punch decimated in middle rounds by Canelo. Let's not also forget how he ran on shaky legs for the last quarter of the fight against Maidana, or the way he was dumped into and tangled in the ropes by Drilzane.

It is a glass jaw that he calls his own. It's also the most entertaining glass jaw ever owned by a prime boxer whose resume at least suggests a level approaching elite.

Once again his chin let Amir down. I don't know how he is handling this psychologically. Is he getting therapy? Don't guys would go crazy by these setbacks.
