Race isn't a social construct in 2017. I am white and am darker than Ward. Are you going to tell me that I am something other than white? Your thinking is very outdated and quite honestly divisive.

GGG has no where near the same level of stamina as Ward. You need to realise how much endurance is required to constantly move around the ring , dipping , slipping and countering in order to naturalise a guy like Kovalev.
Coming forward at a measured pace isn't as draining on the tank as moving backwards at speed popping out a jab.

GGG didn't have the stamina to mount a pressured attack over 12 rounds against Jacobs. His average pace and work rate cost him his knock out streak. He also don't move his upper body anything like Ward and still displays inferior endurance and stamina.

Ward has an insane level of mental and physical conditioning.

Stop it. Black people claim mixed black people all the time more so than white people do. I always tell people this if ward was thrown in prison which inmates would accept him? The whites or the blacks? I'll tell you the blacks would.

I like how people treat GGG as a simple fighter, while he is not. He is a hostage of this Mexican style as it is his only chance to draw more fans. People who know his amateur career know that he has a vast arsenal and can change tactics quite easily. GGG totally changes his tactics when he feels threat and so will be with Ward. Ward changes his tactics during fight and so can GGG.

Again the only advantage Kovalev had versus GGG is size, other than GGG is way better than Kovalev. Way Better IQ, wat better footwork, way better timing, way better chin, better durability and stamina and better jab.

I don't agree with people claiming that he had troubles with Jacobs. He won clearly and he wasn't pushing. My personal view that he wasn't pushing it hard just to get fight with Canelo. Fight with Canelo will show his current condition.

Ward figured Kovalev out in round 5 of their first fight and finished him in round 8 of their rematch.

How are they even in terms of skill again?

I never thought Golovkin could beat him, even when Ward was out of action for such a lengthy period of time.

Now that he's gotten all of that ring rust off, I give Golovkin less than a 10% chance. I only give him a puncher's chance because of his great power, but he's not as talented or as skilled as Andre. In fact, I think Ward has enough pop to hurt Golovkin and possibly stop him. He'd have his way with him on the inside from early on.

I'd imagine Ward would start a bit slow just to assess Golovkin's style a bit in-ring, and than the dissection would begin. It would be great to see Gennady take him on, I've said for years him fighting Ward and even losing in a competitive matchup would be exponentially better than unifying a very mediocre MW division. I haven't changed from that stance in nearly 3 years. Ward's been the only guy I can think of that's been calling out Golovkin so persistently, yet it somehow has been falling on deaf ears.

It would be nice if Golovkin would even acknowledge him, but him and Sanchez have only been lobbying for fights with a JMW in Alvarez and a WW in Mayweather. SO I think we all know where his priorities are. And I'm actually a fan of GGG.

Even with the HBO machine hyping GGG to no ends, and with his kissing ass with his adopted "Mexican style" big drama show he cant seem to even draw flies to poop.

GGG look great against bums, looks average against real contenders.

I rate Kovalev a lot higher than GGG.

At light heavyweight GGG would lose to Andre Ward but he would have a chance at super middleweight, GGG is a
notch above Kovalev in my opinion.

Ggg has a terrible resume. Hard to gauge who is better when you only fight bums.

This idea that Gennady makes things competitive just so he can lure a JMW into the ring is silly, baseless and holds ZERO merit to it. This isn't basketball, it's boxing. You don't put your health on the line and fight sloppily on purpose just to lure future opponents.

The reality is, Ward would more than likely school him and while he's been calling him out for 3 years, Gennady has been using the "I want to unify the MW division before moving up" statement to keep his critics off of him.

And please don't compare Gennady to the Krusher. At least Kovalev takes on real threats consistently. Gennady has been dying to fight a JMW for 2 years and will probably follow that up with a mid-tier MW in Billy Joe Saunders. I'm just happy he's hitting the end of the road in his career and will soon be hanging up his gloves since he's in his mid 30's. He will NEVER face Ward and prove his actual greatness. He's had 3 years to get that match done.

I like him as a fighter, but his selection of opposition has been dubious at best sans Danny Jacobs.

I saw this firsthand from my childhood, and it's still happening.

This unity bs is something that gets sold to naive white people before folks go back to killing each other for wearing the wrong color laundry.

Guaranteed Ward took heat for having a white pops.

You don't have to believe me when I say it. Maybe Andre saying it himself might change your mind. Or is he just making it up, too?
