Kovalev is good enough that Ward's KO victory over him is without a doubt the best win of the last 10 years. Don't believe me? Then name one win that even comes close to comparing during that time.

Problem with Floyd is he never did what Ward did last night, twice now actually, by taking on a consensus top guy in his prime. I love boxing and I loved Floyd coming up but as a fan ultimately he left me wanting more, it is what it is

    Frustration not hate

Ward has better wins than Mayweather does. It just is what it is.

At the time this fight was being discussed in 2015, Golovkin was two years younger and Ward was 10 pounds lighter. Golovkin would have been the best opponent Ward faced, and would certainly have had a strong chance of beating him.

Pound for Pound, Golovkin is still better than Ward and Kovalev. But the Jacobs fight showed he may be too small to mix it up with rangier 180 plus pound men on the regular, at least younger ones. Something interesting to consider, Jacobs could give Ward a run for his money.

As for Ward being impressive against Kovalev. I don't know, I never predicted Kovalev would walk him over and destroy him. From the beginning I said the "smaller man" talk was rubbish and it would be an even fight. I figured Kovalev would out point him and was right in the first fight. Regarding this fight, I predicted a screw job by the judges and like anyone else was surprised by the BS stoppage.

How Kovalev couldn't land on Ward. Kova is more precise and hits a **** ton harder than Jacobs as well.

Jacobs is waaaaay faster than Kovalev and at this stage, even faster than Ward, and rangier. Longer limbs, faster hands, with power...it would be a challenge for the older Ward.

To me the fighter who beats Ward is a pressure fighter. Take an ATG caliber pressure fighter and I think Ward is in a world of trouble.

Maybe in his prime, but right now he's a 33 year old man at a speed and size discrepancy against other men in the division. Kovalev at 34, equal size, and slower..out boxed him in the first fight and was out boxing him in this one before the groin punch stoppage.

Stevenson...he loses to Kovalev and Ward, maybe half the division's top 10 right now. But the guys coming up in this division righ tnow....Beterbiev and Gvozdk, Ward and Kovalev won't be able to handle these guys. Hell if Jacobs moves up, he will be in the mix but he may not even want a piece of these animals. 175 is going to be a very dangerous place soon.
