Actually there hasn't. Wlad broke the compu-clich record in that fight. 160-180 illegal clinches. He groped more than he punched.
Povetkin wasn't even throwing punches and Wlad was still lunging out to grab him.
The first contact of the fight was a clinch by Wlad 5 seconds after the bell rang.

Ali would fight guys from mid range , wlad would clinch them. Ali wasn't remotely as bad as Wlad.

Wlad is comparable to Broner against Porter and Akawandy against Lewis. Both those guys lost because all they could do was illegally clinch.
Refs allowed Wlad to win in the same manner anybody else would have lost..

 

Ali ruined fights at times with clinching, I know Wlads bad, probably worse, but its tactics if your a bigger man. Akinwande in the Lewis fight is on his own, that was another level. He was petrified !

The refs have to enforce the rules, as simple as.

If the ref turns a blind eye to nut punches, then guys like Ward, Bowe and Golota will nut punch. If the ref doesn't stop clinching, then guys like Ali, Ruiz and Wlad will smear themselves all over their opponent's chest. The ABC orgs have to become serious about blackballing referees that don't enforce the rules.

There's ways to deal with smaller guys without illegally back humping them to death if you have the skills. Wlad didn't posses those skills.
He'd be DQ'd fighting like that outside of his jurisdiction so its no excuse , and if he had to fight properly Pov would have clipped him and taken him out.

 

Wlad apparently had Wilder doing the stanky leg dance and his best Elvis impression on cue. Wilder also apparently took several naps when sparring Wlad.

Two dumbos actually think Wilder beats Povetkin in Russia when he left skidmarks in his haste to beat a retreat
