I just don't understand what happened to people's mind over this series. The first was a could go either way, so an immediate rematch was warranted and happened. Like Beterbiev-Bivol. I had Bivol edging that one, but I'm not losing my mind over such a close, competitive fight just because I had it different than the judges.

In the second Kovalev was done, in a defenceless posture after being battered around the ring for half a minute. Unfortunate that the very last blow was low, but it didn't at all seem deliberate, more an effect of that Ward couldn't really see where he was punching when Kovalev was doubled over, and it doesn't change the fact that he was clearly finished.

And this is made into some scandal for the ages. Insane.

He had no problem hurting people, including himself.

While all true, you're not taking into account the ko's happened late in RJJ's career after he moved up to HW then back down. That version of RJJ loses to all top LHW's in history. The RJJ before the move to HW, diffrent story.

He so beat Andre Ward first time. Never quite the same after that fight.

Ya loved Prime Sergey but the romanticism is on fill display here.

People gloat all day long about Mayweather or Manny but the reality is Crawford and Spence would be LIVE versus both and it wouldnt be crazy for Spence and Bud to BOTH beat Floyd. I'm not saying that WOULD happen but its not too farfetched either...Floyd was in his 4th weight class at WW and his power was gone by then. Manny would be in tough fights also and him v Bud is a coinflip. I favor Manny over Spence but nothing is guaranteed.

In that same light its easy to say Kovalev smokes Bivol or Beterbiev now but IDK if i believe that. Those three would all need to do BO3 with each other. Since 2000 these 3 are among, if not the, premier LHWs and that includes RJJ, Toney, McCallum, BHop, Glen Johnson, etc.

Reality is - prime for prime - Kovalev, Beterbiev, and Bivol may be the best of the group.

That RJJ also popped for PEDs and RJJ was no master boxer. He had elite speed, power, and reflexes. And Speed and power benefit directly from PED use.

RJJ was a drug cheat LITERALLY and I believe with drug testing he wasnt the world beater the world thought he was.

    No.

The JUDGES did a psyche job on him in his first fight with Ward, and robbed him. Then the despicable referee permitted the privileged Ward to repeatedly punch him in the stones in the rematch.

Kovalev won the first fight, even Andre was surprised then he ran to the corner and jumped on the ropes. The rematch had the referee legalize ball punching.

Dre Ward the “Son of God” took Kovalev’s soul and prime and he was never the same afterwards. Alcohol abuse did not help either!

I used to be an Andre Ward fan and even convinced myself that he beat Kovalev at the time but I have watched that fight a few times now with more maturity and there is no case for Ward winning. Kovalev kicked his ass and got shafted big time the rematch was a total farce as well. I can now see Ward for what he is a privileged cheating scum bag.

Clearly you went through things and lost your mind and still not been cured. The whole world knows that not only did Ward defeat Kovalev, he stripped him and took away his soul and the evidence proves Kovalev has never been the same.
