I recall the rematch, when he destroyed him. I also remember that Cotto is not a southpaw, and was also scared to fight Williams.

i thought that was foty as well.

martinez himself said he thought he lost the fight. the one judge made it look suspect...but the right man won.

Fantastic fight and awesome knockout!!! Cotto will fight Williams while Williams is in a wheel chair, but Cotto will insist that Williams leave the wheels off his wheel chair............................no way does Cotto come near Golovkin, although HBO wants that fight, but Cotto would have no chance and he knows it.

    Huh?

    1. We are talking about Williams' decision victory in their first fight. Hence the "I" in the thread title.

    2. No need to make fun of Paul Williams' health as a part of your joke.

Fact is that Cotto wants to fight fighters who are injured. When will he fight Golovkin? He won't, no way, unless Golovkin gets injured. As far as Paul Williams is concerned, Void was afraid to fight him. Making fun of Paul Williams? I posted here, a long time ago, that I hope he gets well, not making fun of Paul Williams, but making fun of Cotto. Do you know that Paul Williams has a good chance of walking again? I read that not too long ago. I hope he does walk, but, your purpose was to make me feel guilty about mentioning Paul Williams name, well.................it did not work. I know what I feel, and you know nothing. Are you psychic? Prove it.............

This is a forum on the internet. Of course I will take what you write at face value. Do you think we are psychics???

I'm well aware of your sarcasm but rarely do you ever come close to crossing a line that would actually offend someone.

If Paul Williams ever google'd "Sergio vs. Williams I" to relive the glory days and he happened to stumble on this thread, I'm pretty sure he would only have negative emotions reading your post... Kind of offensive.

No, Paul Williams is far above that, he is not stupid.......................Martinez Vs. Williams I and II were wars that were extremely entertaining, I really enjoyed them. Foreman Vs. Lyle one of my favorite fights, plus Hagler/Hearns................fighters are not as stupid as you appear to think they are.

My bad. I had forgotten about the obvious connections between Foreman vs. Lyle and fighters' sensitives and intellect.

Cotto-Williams would have been interesting. They both generally made for good action fights

I tend to lean towards Williams due to styles and size, but not with that much confidence.. Although Williams was so tall and rangy, he often gave away these advantages. He really didn't "fight tall", and his defense was crap, especially against southpaws. It would've helped Williams somewhat that Cotto is orthodox.
