    Just because of the way that fight ended. Definitely more talked about in retrospect. ****in Steele and King took Taylors manhood that night.

    Ohh sorry. That was my scorecard for Whitaker and Chavez.

    I had Whitaker winning by 3 points against Oscar :good

    i scored the fight 9-3 or 10-2. dont remember exactly.

    Fight would have been closer at 135, but I think both men are markedly better at 135 than 147 and I don't think the outcome would be much different. It wasn't as if Chavez was landing shots on Whitaker that would make you think that if Whitaker was a bit smaller, the fight would have turned out different. Chavez would have a hard time hitting Whitaker at any weight and this fight showed that. Chavez had been dominant for years at 140 and came in at 142 against Whitaker, and was unable to land anything meaningful on him.

    Against a quicker and nippier Pernell, things remain problematic, even if Chavez would be quicker and stronger relatively speaking to the version that fought Pea.

    This was such an amazing fight. I consider Whitaker's taming of the great Chavez as the finest performance of his career.

    Cheers man.

    Chavez was extremely highly thought of back in the day. Before the Whitaker fight some were even questioning whether he'd surpass Robinson.

    My how opinions have changed since then......
