I'm not saying these fighter were bums most were pretty good, but when they had their moment in the Sun, the forum was overhyping these guys as if they were Gods sort of like GGG

it always follows the same pattern. First it was
Hatton exposed by Collazo and brutalized by Manny
then it was Kessler the Viking Warrior who I called the Danish Pastry, who got blasted by Ward

then Suddenly Bute was the flavor of the month and was unbeatable until he was smashed to bits by Froch.
Now its GGG who gets the unabashed love an unreal devotion.

Lomachenko was about to get the treatment but Salido took care of that.
Pirog was God until he slipped a disk or his back bone disintegrated.

But usually it follows the same pattern, mad love until their guy who hasn't really fought anyone but rolled a bunch of lukewarm cans get blasted trying to step it up.

and is immediately forgotten and thrown in the Trash heap until the next can opener comes along and the cycle repeats itself all over again.

I'm not sure why you're trying to dump this on the euros only using those examples. You could've easily also have said Broner, Berto, Ortiz, or Matthysse, Linares, Moreno etc. all were hyped to some degree before failing to deliver on the big stage. This is a common trait among all boxing fans getting carried away hyping 'their' fighters or what not. Stop being a clown.

Deoytay Wilder is gonna get exposed he was fighting dudes that looked like Chaz Bono for 28 fights. Fought two old ass , completely washed up to hell former names Audley and Liakhovich. He fought one live opponent in his career and that fight was fake.

I'm not dismissing any of those guys (Matthysse's my boy and he will be back). It just that this "hype job" **** is played out and can be applied to anyone that has taken a loss. Plus it was clear as day that OP has an agenda in his post, so I just gave some other examples to make a point.

Jeff Lacy epitomizes the theme of this thread more than anyone mentioned.

This was a guy who beat absolutely NOBODY, the very definition of a can crusher, but was being called Mike Tyson reincarnated at super middleweight (seriously.) He was hyped to be this great destroyer, unstoppable, someone to rule the division for years to come. Everyone is quick to distance themselves now, but there was a HUGE Lacy hype train here on ESB.

I can't stand Joe Calzaghe, but even I appreciated what he did, exposing that fraud. Hell a totally shot Roy Jones Jr. who had been knocked out multiple times completely humiliated Lacy. He was sitting on the ropes, hands down, dodging his punches with ease. Roy completely humiliated him, despite being totally shot himself, Lacy is that big of a bum.

I'm not sure there has been anyone to have a bigger hype train, who did so ****ing little. GGG has a huge hype train compared to who he has fought, but even he looks mild compared to Lacy's hype train that he had.

    Lacy may take the cake.
How about Jorge Louis Gonzalez? 23-0 with 22kos going into Bowe fight so many ppl thought he was a destroyer because of his amateur career. Guy was horrible in reality!

Well he was 220-13 with wins over Teofilo Stevenson, Lennox Lewis and Riddick Bowe. The marketing team played up that angle to the hilt. Guy was total rubbish, how that was kept secret til he got into ring with Bowe is one of best marketing jobs ever seen.
