Reminder: Clottey/Margarito re-airing on Showtime: Tue 7PM PT

Would be hoping he does because if he doesn't then I think you'll see me criticise SO much that you'll think we're swapping positions.

If Cotto loses it won't affect him THAT bad, I mean Margarito is still highly regarded and he's coming off a loss to Williams recently so he's not in a horrible position either BUT if Margarito loses then it's nearly over for him which will be sad to see, that's why I'm rooting for him. Though I'm picking Cotto by UD, Margarito does have a good chance and TKO/stoppage is my pick, can't see him win a decision. Let's just hope!

Compukiller is just being funny. I like Cotto but no way he gets rid of the 147 elite in 2 rounds. And by that I mean any of the top 147lb guys. He's not that kind of puncher.

I think Cotto has the talent, but Margo's style and height may prove ultimately a bridge too far for Cotto.

Clottey bruised his hands bouncing it off of margaritos thick skull. Margarito hurt his wrist punching Clotteys guard all night. And I do mean missing damn near every single punch and landing on his guard....ALL NIGHT. Lets talk about faces..lol Margarito looked like the elephant man and was more swollen then ever before. Clottey looked the damn same and was holding his finger after 12 rounds with the tornado and basically said after the fight he was nothing special..lol

The reason why Margarito didn't go for Cotto is because Cotto was set to fight Mosley instead so Margarito fought another undefeated fighter in Williams but lost which pushed a fight with Cotto away some more till he pulled it back by beating Cintron in a rematch and grabbing the IBF belt. As far as being ducked you can't really prove he was ducked till you mention how and the situation behind it, not just "Cotto refuses to fight Marg" OHHHH he's ducking him, that's the WWE method you're using, you might want to stick to facts instead.

 

Cotto-Margarito was set in early 2007. Top Rank even released a press release announcing the fight for June. Margarito originally was going to fight in the co-feature to Cotto-Urkal against David Estrada to build up the fight. But he turned the spot time because he said needed time to recover from the injuries that hampered him in the Clottey fight, and eventually opted to defend against his mandatory instead. Cotto-Mosley wasn't even considered until the summer of 07, long after Margarito-Williams was made.

 

Of all the Margo fights they are going to show that one! Tony looked so bad in that fight and his defense sucked
