They showed some clips of both fighters training. Interviewed Cotto about his friends, family, and his beef with his uncle who is his trainer. It showed the Cotto is far from a robot outside of the ring and likes to clown with his posse alot. With Margarito it touched on his relationship with his trainer, who one guy described as a "Mexican Patton" very intense guy. It got real emotional when Margarito talked about his brother who passed away the night before one of his fights, Margarito shed some tears during the interview. It then touched a little on Cotto's struggles at Junior Welter, and then went into how this is a make or break fight for Margarito.

It was shown on HBO. Margarito looks obsessed with the fight, I think he wants it more that Cotto. Most are picking Cotto to win easily, complete mismatch, but I have a gut feeling that Margarito will knock Cotto out, could be wrong, but.............

 

I think alot of people are over looking what Margarito does bring to the table when he fights, like I said last nights replay of Cintron showed me lots of things Tony has going for him in a fight with Mayweather, work rate punch out put, he shoots his right hand where your going to be not where your at, not only that but when you watch the Cintron Margarito fight, Cintron in a cross over defense, margarito simply pivoted to his right and scored left hook right hands over and over and over.
I really think people just write off Tony cus he is not your classic style boxer, but what they never seem to consider is that in order to counter Tony in order to land on Tony you have to have the mustard in your shots to get the respect, and you must be willing to deal with the incomming along the way.
Cotto is in a nightmare fight, I dont think this fight is going to last very long, I get the feeling that Tony right now is just too damn hungry to beat.

 

Yeah, when he was talking about his brother and what happened it choked me up a bit. Tried imagining if it was me and my bro. Hes one tough ****er and I feel sorry for the guy he steamrolled on that night. Didn`t catch the guys name though.

 

Cotto looks like he will be in total control of the fight...there might be too much pressure put on margo to win from his side.

 

It just showed me Cintron cant fight on the inside and he does not have heart or good boxing instincts. Cotto would do nothing the same. I am going to enjoy this beat down next week.

 

Apparently this has been going on for years. Started with his uncle and brother getting into it during some fight then it came between him and Cotto. DOnt know what the true source of it is, but they are barely on speaking terms.

 

Word. You cant help but get choked up when he gets choked up.

 

It just seems that there is just so much pressure on both fighters to perform well. In addition, there are so many detractors against both men that it is just funny. I'm about that point where enough talking has been done and the fight needs to be had to settle once and for all who is the best welterweight and the better fighter: Cotto or Margarito.
