Yep, anytime you have promoters picking the judges the bout is in question. Full stop.

Don King's Johnny Boudreaux v Scott LeDoux comes to mind, as do the other 3 you mentioned.

    Yeah I agree.

Golovkin 117 -111 Canelo in the first fight. This was a stonewall robbery that demeaned the whole sport. Adelaide Byrd should never work in Boxing again. I would accept a draw in the second.

Ward was etching his way back into the the first fight but I had him 5-1 down + plus knockdown after the first half of the fight; and he sure as sh!t didn't win the second half 6 (or 7) - 0. Robbery!

Fury did beat Wilder no doubt. But the 2 knockdowns give Wilder a bit of a limited moral victory in a sense. But no reason for that to be reflected in the cards. But he was a Brit in the USA so what can you expect. I remember some of the same people thinking Michael Grant would beat Lennox Lewis

Golovkin beat Canelo twice, Fury dominated Wilder; Kovalev beat Ward? Nah.

    GGG Canelo 1 - 117-111 to GGG
GGG Canelo 2 - either 115-113 GGG or 114-114 (for "moral" reasons I favour the latter)
    Ward Kovalev 1 - 115 - 112 to Kovalev

    Ward-Kovalev I, the 3rd round.
IMO Ward clearly won that round, and only one judge gave it to him. Switch that round and you still have it 114-113.

But I am not going to rewatch all of those fights and cross examine the scorecards. Its easy to find these type of rounds.

I started watching boxing as a kid in the 80’s. Have always loved it, only sport I follow.
After 2017 and 2018 I SERIOUSLY considered boycotting the sport.

    These results were all bogus.

1 - Kovalev defeated Ward in their first fight. It was a clear victory, and he was robbed. I say this as a fan of both guys at the time, with both going down in my estimation later (Kov controversy outside ring, Wards arrogance after getting the gift decision).

2 - GGG beat Canelo in their first fight. Everyone knows it. I used to love Canelo and thought he was great for the sport - and I have always respected GGG - but this was clear cut too (or should’ve been). When a judge loses their job for their scorecard, us fans should really not be divided on who won the fight! Clear GGG victory.

3 - Fury defeating Wilder was possibly the clearest win of them all. 10 rounds to 2 is the ONLY real scorecard you can levy. People grasping at straws about long counts and stuff are totally missing the point and are trying to spin an alternate narrative. It was a thrilling fight, but Wilder was humbled. I love watching Wilder because he is the most unique fighter out there. He can lose every moment but just stick to his plan A and pull it outta the bag. And he very nearly pulled that off here. But he didn’t, and he lost by a wide margin.

The Kov and GGG robberies were bad in that they were changing of the guard fights. Significant fights with ongoing ramifications. Those guys got royally screwed. And yeah, the Korobov situation was very similar, albeit on a tier below the GGG/Kovalev robberies.

Took a long time for me to regain my enthusiasm for the sport I love after this.

    Are you kidding me?
Golovkin barely landed anything in the 4th. Alvarez made him miss badly. Don't get me wrong, it was a close round(and boxing is rather subjective), but no way did Golovkin win it "by far".

Agree on the 6th. Golovkin took that. Close but his round.
And in the 7th, Alvarez was on the defensive, but his defense was on point and he landed some solid counters. But i thought Golovkin edged it.

Both fights had a ton of close rounds. I had the first fight a draw, BUT I don't see how Alvarez could have won it. The draw would have been a fair verdict if it wasn't for Byrd's repulsive scorecard.
Second one I had it for Alvarez by a point. Again, could have gone to Golovkin but in my eyes Alvarez did just enough.

Nah... Yeah they did out box and beat them. The vast majority of boxing fans and pundits agree they beat them too. A paid off POS judge like Adalaide Byrd doesn’t determine who wins a fight as history will show. The people do. The ‘official score’ won’t keep people from watching those fights as time goes on and judging for themselves while hearing the LOUD boos from the crowd as the cards are read and the ‘winner’ is announced. ;)

    Close round for me.
I give it to Kovalev but yes, Ward could have got it. Incomparable with the 10th which is largely dominated by Kovalev.

Golovkin also dodges a lot of shots. Even if he puts few powerful blows in this round, he leads the game and touches more, has a much better activity. In the middle of the recovery Canelo spends about thirty seconds without throwing a single shot (you can check) and he must cash at least. Certainly they are not remarkable shots but they count. In any case it is incomparable with round 7 or round 10 of Kovalev vs Ward. Finally, 95% of Eyeonthering users give it to GGG and even Adelayde Byrd has found it difficult to give it to Cabelo.

Agree with the rest of your post but how did you give the 3rd to Kovalev? Based on what?
