They didn't win. Not officially. So it will never be the case.

    Kovalev gives a good jab.
    But it's a close round.

Watch them again because there's no way he won these rounds by far.

Yeah I was amazed that all 3 judges gave that round to GGG. The judges must have thought GGG did marginally better than he did in the first 3 rounds and gave it to G as a "keep the score close round". That or they saw Canelo stay on the ropes, and were influenced by that even though G didn't land anything when he was there. But yeah, Round 4 should have gone to Canelo, but even if you see it as a close round that you gave to G, there's no way you could argue G won that round by far. Like you said Canelo was making him miss and G barely landed anything. Really it was one of the more impressive rounds for Canelo start to finish. And unlike the 7th which only 1 judge gave to Canelo, and the other 2 gave to GGG, the 4th round all 3 judges gave to GGG.

I think this is a round that could be viewed either way, it was a hard round to score in my opinion, but I don't have any problem with you scoring it for GGG. I think it's justifiable being scored either way.
GGG landed the jab really well in this round, this is the only round where GGG seemed to land multiple jabs with real impact. Canelo started the round well, but in the middle portion of the round GGG really took over the round with a sustained attack with Alvarez backing up, but then in the final 30 seconds Canelo landed a big uppercut and several good shots towards the end of the round to finish the round strong. It was a GGG round for me but with the way it ended and with how close the previous rounds were it's not really crazy for a judge to give it to Canelo.

He could have won it because he won rounds 1-3, rounds 10-12 and like you agreed with deserved to win round 4 as well. That's 7 rounds to 5 even if you give GGG rounds 5-9. I personally had it 8 rounds to 4.

That's pretty much how I saw the rematch, 7 rounds to 5 Canelo. For Alvarez to win by a single point, did you have a round even?

LOL only a sack sucker would cry robbery after the first Ward/Kovalev fight. Although I had Kov winning, but it was a close fight. Personally, I think you should re- evaluate what you consider a robbery, because I notice after many close fights that sack sucking fanboys cry robbery, sometimes for years, after their hero takes an L.

What jab? Ward was the one who landed the jab. He landed the jab to the body and some upstairs that knocked Kovalev´s head back.
And Ward landed some sneaky left hooks when they got tied up.

I still don’t understand how anyone could have had Canelo winning the 2nd fight, my mind just cant comprehend it. GGG outlanded him like 2:1, jabbed his head off all night, blocked most of Canelo’s offense... how do people justify Canelo winning that... he did nothing other than throwing flurries every now and then and even though GGG was on the back foot more than in the first fight, he was still jabbing Canelo’s face off and landing beautiful counters

I didn't have Canelo outright winning the second but morally he deserved a draw.

But this is Boxing - the most corrupt status on earth after horse racing

Canelo coming forward played into Golovkins strengths. Golovkin should have been able to use Canrlo's forward momentum against him to damage and punish him.
This is what everybody said after the first fight- if Canelo stands and trade he gets stopped, easily.
That didn't happen. GGG couldn't do anything to him , couldn't hurt him and couldn't put any bit of damage into him , at all.
Why ? Because it was Canelo who was the better and more skillful aggressor , GGG realized that , which is why he fought just to fend Canelo off him.
Fighting more cautiously and tentatively than the first fight was definitely not the gameplan going in. GGG saw Canelo was gunning for the knockout , got spooked and went into retreat mode.
The fear of Canelo's body attack also spooked him into a defensive shell. Golovkin just didn't pull out all the stops and did whatever it took to win. He tried to box the superior box and lost , simple as that!

He wasn’t any danger for GGG at any point, Golovkin executed his plan perfectly and even Canelo’s corner told him to give up trying to knock him out as GGG was too strong. The only hurtful shots in that fight came from Golovkin
