This content is protected So now that his belt will be stripped he suddenly has a change of heart and will take the fight? Clearly what has happened here is Baranchyk thought he could enter the tournament, steal a belt and a nice pay day and run away with his tail between his legs citing "financial disputes" so that he could avoid facing the Scottish Nomaschenko, Triple T Josh Taylor. Well your plan has backfired and now you can either hand your strap over or take the beating you deserve @Serge
had no idea he ducked, thought he was a good fighter, what a shame. JTT Knocks the head clean off em.
I thought the IBF had ordered a mandatory defense which meant he would've had to drop the belt if he went ahead with the Talyor fight??
What baffles me is that they thought they would be able to get out of the tournament without facing major legal issues. They signed a contract and the financial issues have been resolved quite some time ago, so no legal reason they could breach contract.
It doesn't surprise me in the slightest Jockachenko and Rougarou have got the whole division quaking in their collective boots. ''The Beast'' obviously bottled it after seeing the contemptuous ease in which JT dismantled and toyed with America's then best prospect Ryan Martin who unsurprisingly turned out to be a PED addict. Ivan obviously saw how a 12-0 JT who had never been past 9 rounds before spanked Crawford's best win Postol's ass as well. A 28-0 Crawford's feet literally covered every millimetre of the ring 100 times over when he fought the light-hitting Ukrainian because he was petrified of getting clipped by the wind of a love tap. And Postol was Crawford's 7th world title fight and Crawford had been 10 rounds or more x 4 going into that one. And how JT had already accomplished scoring 2 jab KDs within his fight 9 fights, most fighters don't even accomplish 1 jab JD in their entire careers. How JT harvested Ohara Davies' soul and humiliated his ass so badly he's lived in his car ever since and is now more interested in making YT videos than fighting. And how he stopped former world champion Miguel Vasquez (who was robbed of his world title against Mickey Bey) who Clenelo couldn't stop in two attempts. Clenelo only scrapped by Vasquez on a SD in their first encounter so Vasquez was obviously robbed by Clenelo's judges in that one. And Crawford bolted up to 147 like a deer that had caught scent of a wolf as soon as JT and Rougarou burst onto the scene at 140 and he realized that the division wasn't C Level Featherfist Central anymore and that not only could both of these hungry young lions really punch but that they also had great skills to complement their power too.
Why does everyone need a reminder? Its not like he's some P4P guy like Canelo or Ward doing the ducking. Baranchyk will get found out against the first skilled fighter with some pop to hurt him, that he gets in the ring with. If I were Ivan I'd be ducking the hell out of Taylor as well.
I've been trying to give Baranchyk the benefit of the doubt, but I agree with the thread starter on team Baranchyk's initial strategy. Grab an easy belt over a scrub like Yigit, then try to drop out and not face Taylor. I expect Josh to take Barachyk apart and stop him late. Possibly even mid rounds, Baranchyk doesnt have the most sturdy chin.
The best that can be said for Baranchyk is that maybe he'll test Taylor's chin. But overall, his chances are slim. Taylor-Prograis seems like almost a given, cause likewise, I can't see Relikh beating Prograis.
