I've seen this whole song and dance before. You're going to say that Wlad is the best HW ever, and Ali and Louis were cruiserweights. You're also going to say that Sanders would have been champ in the 60's-70's.

It's sad how predictable you trolls are.

I'm just telling you what you already know but refuse to admit. No use typing out a 6 paragraph response for people who glorify cheaters.

Your statements looks fishy to me Ali was a tallish heavyweight weight for his era but not that tall and was barely over 200lbs himself during the first half of his career so wasn't much heavier than these so called cruiser weights you mention.

So I checked Boxrec for Wlad's and Ali's opponents and their heights and your full of ****. Wlad had an average height advantage of 3.7 inches over his opponents while Ali only had and average height advantage of 1.7 inches.

And during Wlads decade of dominance in 20 fights he averaged a weight advantage of 12.4 lbs while Ali throughout his career had an average weight advantage of just over 7lbs.

The actual figures do not support your claim, Wlad has enjoyed a more significant advantage in height and weight over his opposition than Ali ever did.

Wlad has skills. That's not in question.

But Wlad generally has held a greater edge in terms of height/weight than Ali throughout the majority of their respective careers. Most of the cruiser-weights that Ali faced during his career were early on...when Ali was also, for all intents and purposes, a cruiser-weight. Even then, Ali was outweighed on more than one occasion.

Ali was outsized more than once (Sabedong, Powell, Terrell, Bugner and Foreman immediately come to mind). Wlad was outsized against Wach...and who else, exactly?

Agree with the final point, but the argument used to bolster it is seriously flawed.

You need to scale for size.

Ali being smaller than Wlad means that his weight and height advantages scale more significantly.

Mayweather with a 7 lb advantage is far more impactful than Wlad with a 15 lb advantage.

Anybody that knows boxing is aware that Ali's skills as a fighter surpass Vlad's by a mile. There is simply no contest in that area. He was never folded like a cheap suit by any fighter. The thing is, that if Ali were the same size as all of his opponents, the results would have been the same but if Vlad were the same size as his opponents, he would be getting his ass whooped on a regular basis.

The heavyweight champ has almost always enjoyed advantages in height and weight. Jack Johnson took the crown off a guy half a foot shorter than him and then hardly ever fought anyone over six feet tall.

I've sometimes thought that maybe we ought to find the average weight and height of all the heavyweight champs opponents and divide it by their own height and weight to see just how they actually measured up against each other.

That's exactly what this thread is about.

If you DIVIDE the champs weight by opponents weight, you'll see that Ali was JUST AS BIG as Wlad was compared to his opponents, if not more so.

Idiots in this thread can't grasp this simple concept.

LOL, these Russians sure have a tremendous amount of envy of Ali.
They refuse to accept the fact that there is simply no comparison when evaluating Ali's level of skills versus the average, but big Klitschos.

    Erm no :patsch

Even if you do it as a percentage Ali only averaged a 2.3% more in height while Wlad averaged 4.8% height advantage.

Must be great in Klittard land where things like facts don't actually matter. :-(

Iron Mike Tyson says today's heavyweights may not look as good but are much bigger and stronger than any previous generation. He said he didn't know if he could beat the Klitschko Brothers. Maybe you can convince Iron Mike otherwise?
