I was serious about Snipes running. From memory he fought scared most of the night against Coetzee and even refused to engage Eddie Mustafa who was moving up from 175 and had a gut Galento would have given a nod toward.

Who would you say hit Sonny with plenty of overhand rights pre Ali? During his best years i found his defense extremely underrated and among the best in the division.

 

In his bout with Bert Whitehurst he was caught quite often with the overhand, it's naturally apart of Sonny's style with that long pawing left hand, he usually rolls with it most of the time which definitely shows his defensive skills but it still can land if you get his timing down.

 

It would have made what amounted to Bowe's last hurrah look like a cakewalk in comparison.
