Looking fwd to this fight big time ! ...im a big fan of Munroe hes an improving fighter whose good to watch .. but this rematch is making me nervous . Munroe has improved since the first fight but think Kiko has done more homework this time around .
The bookies worryingly had the 'Binman' at 4/9 earlier this week but hes drifted to 8/11 now .... will still be backing him but my maximum bet maybe halved at this rate ...

Whats your thoughts on this fight ?

I don't think its as cut and dry and people say, either. Martinez will know this guy now, he'll know what to expect.

Munroe's performances havn't been too good of late. He's given away a few cheap rounds with slow starts. He can't afford that in this fight.

After Martinez blew away Dunne I thought he would be too strong for Munroe. Obviously I was wrong, as I suspect many others were.

However, as TFFP says above, Munroe hasn't been that impressive recently. I think he looks vunerable and I can see Martinez catching a complacent Munroe with a big shot and ending it within 6 or 7.

I disagree Munroe can only beat whats in front of him and the Italian was getting a boxing lesson in his last fight ... martinez has fought a couple of journeymen since his defeat to Munroe . Neither fighter has truly been tested since there last fight .

Munroe said in the last fight none of Kiko's punches were special .

That was no boxing lesson! The Italian was getting the better of Munroe in the first two rounds. I can see Martinez taking this one although neither are anything special.

Munroe should win this easily and boringly like the last time, he's not going to get stupid and stand and trade with Kiko no matter what he says because that's the only likely way Kiko would win.

Munroe's performances have been disimproving for me, he's merely had easier nights due to lower opposition.

Munroe didn't give a boxing lesson against Trotta, Trotta outworked him in the first few rounds before Munroe started getting of good quality power shots to the body that broke him. It wasn't Munroe's boxing skill that won the fight but size and power.

Martinez has shown since the first loss to Munroe that he is actually indeed crap and possesses power and little else. The guy has no stamina and no workrate whatsoever and was actually pathetic last time out against a survivor journeyman. Martinez will look for the overhand right all night(but he certainly won't throw it all night he doesn't have near the stamina), and if he doesn't land it hard and clean on a few occasions he loses.

I do think Munroe has respect for his power though, in the last fight whenver Martinez landed a glancing shot even Munroe would scatter away as fast as he could and refuse to engage at all and you could see some physical impact on him from the punches. But he was never caught clean and there's a good chance he won't be caught clean again.

Munroe looked so promising to me in his destruction of Marc Callaghan, but I suppose I just didn't take into account how faded Callaghan was because his best performance since has been the Martinez fight and even then I wasn't really that impressed(and I did pick him to win it).
Munroe's become less of a boxer since and looked more to use his size and physical advantage to best his opponents. If he trys that against Martinez I doubt it'll work, but then again I doubt he'll try it.

Anyway Munroe UD in an absolute snoozer.

Munroe will win on points less impressively then last time- don't think it will be a snoozer-both will have fair moments but munroe will be more active and dig in enough body shots to win on points

Munroes a thinking mans fighter ... he will win friday evening and im in at 8/11 ....

He won the last fight against Kiko easier than the scorecards suggest IMO and Kiko for me hasnt improved whereas I think Rendall has ... in his last fight he let the Italian blow out for 2 rounds and then took control ... Munroe knows he aint gonna TKO fighters in the first round but used his boxing brain and worked him over after he had ran out of steam ...

I see most of the above posts prefer to watch TKO specialists - but watch Rendall and his ring sense and movement to appreciate a good 12 round fighter !

The Super Bantam scene in Europe is so bare, it used to be perhaps the most competitive division in Europe and now there's guys fighting for the title who make the recent Commonwealth title challengers look competant.

True it has been very bare of late, but with the return of both Hunter and Monshipour and Maludrottu moving up in weight it's becoming a decent division again.

I mean Munroe, Martinez, Dunne, Maludrottu, Hunter, Monshipour, Marsh, Bedak, Parodi. That's certainly not a bad division at European level.

The division is also deepening in the UK with a good few prospects coming through, Mark Moran, Gary Davies(although he may fight at Bantam), Scott Quigg, Rhys Roberts, Michael McGuire, Michael Walsh, Josh Wale, there's a few other unbeaten young fighters in the division too.

Then you also have Esham Pickering, Rocky Dean, Gavin Reid, Danny Wallace, John Donnelly, Stuart McFadyen.

All European Super-Bantamweight champions have had awful defences or two for quite some time though.

-Munroe's had Trotta and Matirosean, okay he struggled badly with Matirosean but that's to do with how poor Munroe fought not how good his opponent was.
    -Dunne had Jailouev
    -Hunter had Jailouev and Guartos
    -Pickering had Juan Garcia Martin
-Monshipour had Guartos, although the Frenchman amazingly did have a draw with Guartos previously so that fight made sense. The first fight was in Spain it should be noted.

Medjkoune was the last European champion that had no really easy defences and he held the title last 7 years ago.

Munroe is an ok fighter but I think you're giving him too much credit, you make out like losing the first 2 rounds to Trotta was part of a plan, the Italian got the better of him, simple as.

8/11's a good price, especially with home advantage. Munroe to win but it won't be a classic. Maybe three rounds in it.

monroe is gonna win it with movement, not without a difficult moment or two
