Rendell Munroe WBC title fight September

i reckon munroe could pull in the numbers if u got his story out there to the wider public.

be great if the fight is in munroe's home turf - gives him that extra bit of chance of winning.

I think they should probably put htis in the Nottingham arena Walkers stadium just isn't going to sell i think he could nearly fill the Nottingham arena

Great news if it comes off. Although Rendall is not quite up there in terms of ability of record, but you can't deny that he doesn't deserve a shot as he has worked his bollocks of in every fight. I would be made up if Rendall became champion, I really like the way he fights.

I just wish he could start a bit quicker.

It's a huge step up from guys like Trotta, Matiroysan and Maludrottu to a proven world champion like Nishioka. When you consider that not only has Munroe struggled against some of these guys but he has also never faced anyone decent at domestic level it doesn't bode well for him.

 

Maludrottu would easily beat any other British 122lb'er with the possible exception of Jason Booth.

Having beaten Kiko Martinez twice there isn't much point fighting the likes of Marsh and Hunter.

I think he falls short as well, but you can't fault the lad at all IMO.

 

He lost the Maludrottu fight imo, he picked it up in the later rounds but he clearly lost that fight. Kiko Martinez has been shown up to be nothing special at all since his blow out of Dunne. My point is that he bypassed the tough fights at domestic level and jumped straight to Euro level where he has since struggled with really bad opposition so of course he can be faulted!

 

The Maludrottu fight was close, he needs to get the slow starts out of his system I agree.

Martinez isn't anything special but was being hyped like **** and was a big favourite for the first fight, which was nowhere near as close as the cards suggested.

As for bypassing domestic level.... he took it on short notice, about a week I think, so why not?

 

He was right to take his shot of course but I think had he fought some good domestic fighters (which to be fair are a lot better than some of these Euro fighters he faced like Trotta and Matiroysan) before going onto Euro level it would stand to him now going into a world title fight.
