I have to take my hat off for the man. No denying it.

This is the kind of fight he should have taken years ago. A young, hungry champion who is within the same age bracket. This is a truely dangerous fight.

It looks like Mayweather is finally coming around to his senses. Good for him. I for one am glad he did not take the fight with the 35 year old Shane Mosley. This fight with Hatton will mean signficantly more years from now.

Floyd has previously fought a lot of guys in and near their primes.Corrales was still undefeated when Floyd polished him off 6 years ago.Chavez, Castillio, Hernandez were all tough guys at the top of their games.Of course because Floyd is so good, and he seems like a classless egomaniac, he is held to a higher standard. But the little ***** can fight, and Hatton will be painted cherry red.

Corrales, Chavez, Judah, Manfredy, and Castillo were prime (or very close to it), but I don't know about Hernandez. At least not Genaro. Granted, Genaro was considered the top 130 lb. fighter at the time, never lost @ that weight and was on the bottom end of the p4p charts (KO magazine had him @ 10 or 11, I'll have to check), but he was getting a little long in the tooth.

Props to Mayweather. Taking on challenges that a P4P King should take.

Mayweather is proving himself more and more, hopefully we get to see a few more big fights from him before he hangs it up for good. It hink it was pretty obvious he would fight again and it seems a pretty sure thing he will again. It was a short lived retirement.

this is what the p4p king should be doing, after this he should take on mosley and cotto, not the winner of their fight but both.

so if cotto beat mosley you would still want him to take a 36year old fighter coming off a loss

wow the hate would be unreal

There would be no reason to fight Mosely if he lost. Being that Cotto would be Floyd's next logical opponent, a fight with Mosely wouldn't happen until Mosely would be about 37. Beating a 37 year old Mosely would prove nothing, especially if Floyd beats Cotto after Hatton.

yeh i would like to see it, like marvin hagler faught hearns, leonard and duran, he could have chose the winner of hearns-leonard/duran but he decided to show what he is about.

just like i want cotto to fight mayweather and hatton and paul williams AND even margarito.

    Good post.

Hatton then Cotto, then if he were to beat Cotto, he could really retire with the status that he craves, especially since Mosley and Cotto are squaring off to see who the better fighter is at the current juncture.

Hopefully during all of this, Williams and Cintron can meet ot unify, offering another bonafide opponent for Floyd.

ok maybe not mosley if he loses but if he loses a great close fight,

as the p4p king floyd should fight anyone who is a threat to him, you as floyd fans should be encouraging him to do so, not worrying about how much he should make, what he makes has nothing to do with you unless ofcourse you get a cut, people say floyd shouldn't fight mosley because floyd isn't going to get a good payday, i say who gives a ****?? let them worry about that, i dont care how much a fighter makes, i just wanna see a fight.
