That was a really good read and most of it I agree with. Especially the part about you have to bring the fight out of Floyd and if you do he will rise to the occasion. I have always believed it was Hatton's style that got him knocked out with Floyd. Because if Hatton was content to box with him Floyd would have been happy to stay on the outside all night and box to a UD. But because of the styles and Hattons pressure, it forced Floyd to take it to the next level and it was a great fight after Cortez chilled out a bit towards the second half and let them fight. They really underestimated Floyd's physical strength, stamina and his heart. He has all those but people are too caught up with their hate for his public persona or for some of his boring/conservative fights that they forget that.

I really cant wait for the Pac fight especially because Pac will force Floyd to fight at his best and we will get to see him give it his all instead of operating at half capacity or whatever you want to call it.

Good interview, but it isn't anything that we don't already know. Floyd is a great boxer, and can be extremely likable when he wants to be. He also can be a huge *****.

Yeah, sounds good when he says he got away with murder in there.

    Why isn't he the consensus #1 p4p?
Or the fighter of the decade?
Or the fighter of the year?

Come on bro you know he retired #1 p4p in this decade so he couldnt be considered fighter of the decade being retired for almost 2 years. Fighter of the year are you serious the year has just started. I can tell you he will be #1 p4p and the fighter of the year by years end. :hi::hi:

Because He's disliked because of the way people perceive him (cocky, flashy, arrogant, safety first style etc..) whereas Pac is the smiling guy from the Phillipines, who seems so innocent because he speaks poor english, and he has a much more action oriented style, albeit on that gets him hit clean a lot too which overall is more exciting to a lot of fans.

Hopefully that meet in the ring.

not to mentiion there is the perception that pacquiao is accomplishing superhuman feats....whereas with floyd....people are demanding him to accomplish such things

this is a nice read....and i agree with graham about him being able to take out jmm...ive always thought there could have been two reasons he didnt....he was afraid to hurt his hand....or he had enough respect for jmm that he wanted him to finish on his feet

Because his resume is not quite up to par with his talent level. And at his peak, where he could have really made some historic victories - he took almost 2 years off.

    people are tough to please

he fought oscar at his comfortable 154 weight...when oscar still had at least maybe a little something left....he beat an unbeaten 140 world champ....took out zab(who everybody always wanted to see him fight)....he took out the #2 p4p fighter in the world for his return....all of his after already building a pretty good resume....now hes taking on the guy everybody wants to see him fight...who is the 147 champ

i understand people wanted to see him tangle with cotto and margarito....most of the same people would say now "im pretty sure floyd would beat both of them....but its the fact that he didnt fight them"...blah blah....realize that it was tough at the time for these matchups to actually get made...arum didnt really wanna put cotto in there with floyd.....do people actually think a fight with paul williams has ever made any real sense?

Mayweather isn't the consensus #1 P4P because he has fought once in a good 2-2 and a half years, whilst Pacquiao has had some big wins. He was obviously P4P before he "retired", but just because he is fighting again, doesn't neccessarily mean he goes straight back to #1.

I honestly believe if he had stuck around for those two years, and maybe had at least one of the big Welterweight names on his resume (Cotto, Margarito), he would of had a good shout for fighter of the decade. Pacquiao won fighter of the decade because he got the big fights at the right time. The De la Hoya win got his name out there worldwide, I doubt he would of even been a contender for fighter of the decade without that win.

Mayweather is not fighter of the year because he fought once last year, simple as that.
